The next step for the Cardinals is to show that as a team they have the leadership and maturity to handle being the favorite every week. It takes a different mentality to perform when you are "the hunted" as opposed to being "the hunter." Now that the Cardinals are ranked number one in some...
Jalen Thompson was our best player on defense. He rocked the Ram receivers and made some big plays. I even think the pass interference call on him was a marginal call at best. He was dominant at safety today.
Murphy, Wilson, and Alford as our top 3 corners is a concern, but more worrisome is our #4 and #5 corners, Tay Gowan and Luc Barcoo. Those two playing will be a disaster. It's a certainty, that the Cardinals add a corner from the roster cuts.
I see the reasonable potential for improvement in every area of the team except tight end. With the draft, free agent additions, and development of young players, I expect this team to win 9-11 games and be a solid playoff contender. The addition of a reliable placekicker alone should mean an...
I like our roster if JJ Watt, AJ Green, Rodney Hudson, and Malcom Butler all pan out along with Zaven Collins and Rondale Moore. Otherwise, not so much.
Every team in our division will be in trouble if they lose their starting QB, not just the Rams. Where will we be with Colt McCoy or Streveler as aour QB?
I remember George Allen as coach of the Redskins and I hated the guy primarily because his teams used to beat the Cardinals with regularity. He had this nervous habit of licking his fingers at critical moments during the game, and then he would explode with emotion on the sideline ala Pete...
I'm not concerned at all about Drake moving on. He missed a lot of reads last year and didn't always run hard or show the burst he had the previous year. I definitely did not want him back as our feature back.
Gilbert is under contract and the Cardinals can afford to bring him into camp and take a look after his year away from football. My guess is that Jones will start at right tackle unless Gilbert looks very solid in camp. In this case Jones could slide to right guard. In either case I believe...
The guy will be 32 years old next month and has battled injuries for the last couple of years. Although he still has something left(unlike past former star signings, Terrell Suggs and Emmit Smith), the question is how much at age 32?
I just think it would be a real gamble to invest free agent...
Didn't the Cardinals release a team hype video without Josh Rosen the year that we drafted Murray? I seem to remember some controversy about it at the time.
Very strange take on an owner thanking the fans for enduring a tough season and then expressing hope and optimism for next season. The Cardinals did finish the season at 8-8 and they did compete for a playoff spot until the last game of the season. This isn't to say that they don't have a lot...
At this point, Peterson is part of the problem, not the solution. How can you pay a cornerback with average at best coverage skills, who won't force the edge. He's just a liability for your defensive scheme. No way do I pay him $9M.
The answer is don't sign Drake. He showed poor vision and decision making last year, combined with a tendency to run horizontally with little to no power to break tackles. We can do better with a 3rd or 4th round draft pick and low dollar free agent.
In his prime Peterson was an elite shut-down corner, who's man coverage skills were so good that he could get away with being averse to tackling and defending the edge. At present, I believe his coverage skills are average at best, if not below average. Definitely hope that we don't...
I actually watched their line play and think both Fotu and Lawrence have the physical ability to be starting defensive linemen in the NFL. Again, time will tell, but I really like what I see
so far.
Although Keim's drafting record over the last 5 years has clearly been below average, I think last year's class will turn out to be a good one. Simmons, Fotu, and Lawrence all got meaningful snaps and from what I saw all three could turn out to be starters. Time will tell.
It also sounds like...
Agreed. Jamar Chase is the best receiver NFL prospect. He's only 20 years old verses a 22 year old Smith. Chase started as an 18 year old freshman at LSU and absolutely dominated as a 19 year old the next year. At 6'0 feet and 207 lbs. I think he'll be a great pro.
I also happen to think...
When it comes to the first two rounds, I firmly believe in drafting guys with a high floor rather than picking guys with the highest ceiling. I think you have to minimize risk in the first two rounds make sure you get a guys that won't wash out. Take a risk and swing for the fences in later...
