    Cards sign OL Hjalte Froholdt

I focused on Froholdt in the first half and saw the same thing. He was very solid. Didn't watch him in the second half so don't know how he finished up, but he was more than serviceable for the first two quarters. We may have found a center despite Harry stating that he wasn't an NFL center.

Giants at the Cardinals gameday thread 9-17-23

We were without 3 of our 5 defensive line rotation with L.J. Collier, Carlos Watkins, and Fotu all out of the game. It looked like Strong and Ledbetter were gassed at the end of the game and Stills offered nothing. Also, our outside linebackers/ends either failed to get pressure or let Jones...

Although the sample size is small(one), it appears that Monti's first top ten draft choice is legit. Everything I've seen and heard about Paris Johnson indicates that he's going to be a quality tackle in the NFL. Obviously, the jury is still out on both Monti and Gannon, and nothing but time...

The Positive Kyler Murray News Thread

I don't think the Cards would be 2-0 with Kyler at QB. I'd say more likely they'd be 1-1. I think they would have won against Washington with Kyler, but not yesterday. The offense couldn't have performed any better in the first half yesterday with Kyler because they were almost flawless, and...

Why Josh Dobbs Likely Can’t Be Fixed

I agree that I don't think they'll put the rookie Tune in against San Francisco or Dallas. Dobbs gets 4 games to show that he is a capable backup QB and Tune gets 4 games to watch and learn. If Kyler isn't back for game 5, which looks to be the case, and Dobbs continues to struggle, I would...

Why Josh Dobbs Likely Can’t Be Fixed

This is a good analysis of Dobbs. I don't think anybody considers him a starting NFL quarterback. The question is, can he be a suitable backup and is he better than Blough or other QB's that were available? He may be better than Blough, but I don't think Blough is a decent backup QB either.

K'Von Wallace looked really good, especially considering he was late waiver wire acquisition. What I don't understand is, why did Philly let him go? Are they so loaded at safety that he couldn't make the team? The guy looks like he's for real.

Check out #72 Froholdt at center in Brandon Thorn's Twitter clip above on Paris Johnson. Small sample, but he looks more than adequate to me.

New York Giants @ Arizona Cardinals Pre Game Thread. 09/10/23-09/16/23

My guess is that the offense and defense go in opposite directions with the offense showing a little improvement and the defense regressing somewhat. The result will be about the same. I'm guessing the offense gets a TD and couple of field goals for 13 points and the defense gives up a couple...

    The 2023-24 league year

Shortened preseason, restrictions on contact, and not playing starters in preseason games makes it difficult for an offense to be cohesive in game 1. Agree that the next couple of weeks will show general improvement for the offenses.

Cardinals at Commanders gameday thread 9-10-23

I understand the circumstances that led to the last second backup QB acquisition, but have no idea what the team was thinking about the running back room. Ingram is not a suitable backup and they have no speed at all. If the running back is so devalued and easy to find late in the draft, why...

Week 1 Cardinals Rookies Snap Counts

Ojulari definitely deserves a pass, since he was rehabbing from surgery for the bulk of training camp. Really have to hold off until mid-season before passing judgement on this second round draft choice.

I'm not sure the Cardinals had many options in late August when they traded for Dobbs. You just don't find borderline starters or quality backup QB's in late August. The only viable option to me was to go with the rookie Tune, which may have been the better choice. Time will tell when we see...

    NFL Sunday Ticket

I liked the old NFL ticket on Directv much better. Is there a way to record the games on Utube? I couldn't figure it out with my Roku device.

Cardinals at Commanders gameday thread 9-10-23

McCoy's regression and ultimate flameout during the preseason put the Cards in a tough position. There were no good options at that point, and trading for Dobbs was just a necessary evil. You can make the case that the Cards should have foreseen McCoy's demise, but his career 6-6 won loss...

Cardinals at Commanders gameday thread 9-10-23

Way top many negative yardage plays. These are drive killers and hard to overcome for any offense, much less a mediocre to bad backup QB. Hopefully, Petzing will get some of this straightened out. This was his first game as a offensive coordinator and playcaller, along with a QB who has only...

Is too early to start Clayton Tune?

Like K9 said, I assume that based on practice evaluation the coaches believe that Dobbs gives the Cardinals the best chance to win, which isn't saying much. I would also assume that they don't want to put Tune in before he's ready, and possibly destroy his confidence and body. My guess is that...

    Gannon roasted for pep talk

"That was the easy call," White said. "I built a great relationship with them. I trust them, I know the system. I really believe in those guys." Quote from Kyzir White on playing for Gannon and Rallis.

Obviously, the cell phone breaks approach wasn't too successful, so give attention to details and rigor a chance.

    Gannon roasted for pep talk

The players have said how much they love playing for Gannon, yet you jump on a second account from a media nobody, who may have an axe to grind, to run down Gannon. Give me break. Context is important and who knows how this interaction really went down, and how the team or player felt about it.

    Gannon roasted for pep talk

I think bringing in a high level talent evaluator like Dave Sears to be your number 2 man makes a difference. The only evidence we have so far is this year's draft, and between the players selected and the draft choices acquired for year's draft, it sure looks like a success. I guess we'll...

    Practice Squad 2023-24

Practice squad guys are always such a long shot, but I think Arias, Hayes, and Whiteheart may eventually earn some playing time this season or in future seasons. There's something to like about each one of them.

If the Cardinals are 3-13 this year, we can make the same argument about Wilk's bricks. Time will tell.
