    Pace signed by Dolphins

We're developing our players and when they start to get decent we fail to resign them.

The Truth-Take it How You Want To

Because Boldin's contract isn't hamstringing us in FA and because you won't get as much for Boldin as Fitz, right now you may be able to get a 2nd for Boldin. I think Fitz will have a longer career, but Boldin will put up almost as good of numbers the years he does play and for less. I'd...

    Pace signed by Dolphins

Do you really think Berry is a starter on this defense. He's a situational pass rusher, if he's starting and playing significant time, he'll be on IR by week 5.

    Pace signed by Dolphins

We could have resigned Pace with the money we have available now. Not sure why we didn't, but think its a mistake. I bet he signed a 4 or 5 year deal, so a 4 or 5 mil cap hit, we could have done that. Oh well another season of replacing starters with draft picks, happens every year, not...

    So long, Mr. Pace!

There is no doubt that Parker wants to get another huge payday before Fitz turns 30. There is no other reason to want a 4 year deal. If they sign the six year deal, the guaranteed money would be more. I also don't agree that the Cards don't want to, or won't resign Pace. I think if we can...

    ESPN on Pace

So by the same argument, Lou Gherig sucked in 1925, since he wasn't the starter at the beginning of the year. What about Warner in 1999? Who cares what his status was before the year started, he got an opportunity and he produced, and produced well.

Assuming we swallow Fitz's cap number

Looks to be right at 8 mil if we low tender Merritt, Urban, Brown, and give 2nd round tenders to Green and Smith. If we choose not to tender Merritt and cut Shipp brings us to a little over 10 mil. 10 mil should be enough for one or two good FA and some depth FA (maybe 2).

49ers will shell out at least 14 mil guaranteed for Calvin Pace

Your joking right? 14 mil SB over 5 years with 2 mil base salaries is like 5 mil a year cap hit. I can't recall any injury problems with Pace (other than the freak window accident). If he puts up the numbers he did last year, he'd be a bargain.

More details and opinion on offer to Fitz

Using roster bonuses last year instead of signing bonuses has a very minimal effect on this years cap. If we handed out 12 mil in roster bonuses (not sure of actual numbers, just a "for example") last year, to players that signed a total of 6 years, it only adds 2 mil this year if it was...

    McFadden is on his way

Also they said on NFL network during the combine that he's fumbled the ball 23 times in 3 years, so for those berating Charles for ball security, there should also be one on McFadden for the same thing.

    Cardinals: Fitzgerald not going anywhere

I'm not sure whats worse. The fact that he said this publicly, or the fact that trading Fitz is completely out of the question with a 17 mil price tag. Either way it doesn't exactly inspire confidence in RG. Don't get me wrong I love Fitz, think he is a great receiver, probably top 5 in the...

    CDFMD's Mock Drafts

I like the FA signings in draft 2, but the actual draft on 1. Only thing I would change is I think Groves could be around at 28, and I like Tony Hills in the 3rd and Dexter Jackson in the 6th. The rest of the draft is fine. I assume you would be dropping Arrington in this scenario?

Artice - Cards, Fitzgerald not close to deal

Well we do have some leverage. He could get hurt and not recieve anything beyond an injury settlement this year. Usually about half your salary so around 8 mil. Or he could sign a 8 year extension with 32 mil signing bonus and huge salaries in 7th and 8th year and restructure then. 8 mil or...

    Wells

I agree Gandy has reached his ceiling last year, I wouldn't expect him to get better. I can live with him for another year at LT, but I really don't anticipate him playing at a high (or even above average) level for too much longer. Extend him for 3 years to lower his cap hit this year, and...

    Falcons-Hall officially on trading block

I'd be curious to see how his contract is structured. The Falcons would be on the hook for the signing bonus portion. We would only be responsible for his yearly salary if I remember correctly.

    Wells

Base salary is 3.5 mil, with a roster bonus of 3.3, so actually 6.8 hit this year.
  21. HookemCards

    Wells

Wells hit is only 1.1 mil which is fairly reasonable even if he is relegated to backup duty for someone that can play all the positions on the line. Don't get me wrong, I'm not in favor of him being starting LG, but he certainly would be great depth and not too expensive considering his...

    Wells

If i'm not mistaken Gandy's cap hit for this year is 6.3 mil unless he restructured or something. I expect him to be extended with him getting about 8 mil signing bonus for 3 more years. But right now his contract isn't reasonable.

Will the Cards Trade Up Two Years in a Row?

I'd much rather trade down with the Cowboys for there 22 and 28, as long as we are talking about one sided deals. I have a feeling that JJ would really love to draft one of the two Ark RBs. With McFadden probably out of reach, all we have to do is convince him that the Texans are in love with...

Front Page Article: Can the Cardinals Win Keeping Status Quo?

Oh, you mean something like this http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=106548 :) Oh and I like Merling more and more at 16. He can play both DE and OLB, and can play the run (something I think we showed signs of doing well, but sometimes were gashed badly) or rush the passer.
