    I doubt Torey will be gone… and he shouldn’t be. But the pen will see a good deal of change. I don’t think Walker will be back. I doubt Perdomo will be the starting SS. And I believe CF will be dealt with as well, as McCarthy and Thomas are just not good enough.

    The stats support that statement. My guess is guys like E-Rod, Kelly, Gallen, Walker, Marte, Gurriel, Moreno and Monty all felt the need to press once they were back. While they were out, their backups simply approached the game as backups. They were likely more loose and played with fun.

    They lost a ton of games due to injury. Just because dudes eventually made it off the IR, doesn’t mean they’re “back” and certainly doesn’t mean they can easily slip back into the team chemistry…

    The math says we'll still have a shot if we lose tonight and regardless of the Braves - Mets outcome... But yes, it would be terrific if we can scratch out a W tonight! Even better if we win and the Braves lose!

    Too early to talk about next year stuff… However, gotta believe that Hazen will not only address the bullpen and who knows about the rotation, but he will also deal with CF and SS as both McCarthy and Perdomo have shown that while nice players, they’re not everyday starters.

    Let’s see what they average for the rest of the season. Rome wasn’t built in a day… and building a sustainable, reliable fan base takes time. The trend is favorable, albeit certainly not rocketing to higher levels.
