    Cards are favorites? Seems ludicrous based on recent history between the two teams and current dumpster fire defense. Rams should be favored by 5 or so in my opinion. Plus,the Cards have been awful at home in recent times.

    We fully expect the defense to get abused. If they provide a half of somewhat competent play, it is a minor miracle. What the team can't afford is the much more talented offensive unit disappearing for 30 minutes in a game. If it becomes a habit, the team will be lucky to win 4 games this year.

    Could be. Some teams on our schedule are going to be better or worse than expected. Cardinals offense has the potential to actually be really good. If the defense can merely be below average instead of dumpster fire, the odds of 7-9 wins is completely plausible.

    Very curious to see his deep passing accuracy. For whatever reason, it has become a weakness overall in recent history vs early in his career. Agree with Stout that I'm not grading his performance on W-L record because I think the ceiling this year is probably 9 wins.

    I agree with this if Kyler plays well overall this season. If Kyler plays poorly then Monti is obviously going to have to start over at QB. It would be foolish to run the GM out of town before he has an opportunity to choose the player at the most important position on the team.

    It is not a huge factor at the moment, but Penix has suffered four significant injuries already in his late teens/early 20s. The odds seem lower to me that he will be one of the QBs that is successful a decade from now.

    if the Cardinals finished 12-5 or 13-4, they would almost certainly fall in the real contender camp, not the fake one. Kyler would likely be having a phenomenal season if the Cards are winning 12+ games. Plus the NFC West is a tough division.

    Hard to criticize the kid too much for that one. I think pretty much every RB was injured that game, and it was on the road against one of the best defenses in League. Horrible situation for a first start. I'm glad Cards won't be going into the season with him as #2 though.
