    Yes, they COULD have won the Buffalo and Detroit games, but I don't think anyone here would argue they SHOULD have won those games. While upsets do happen, the better teams usually win, and both Buffalo and Detroit have considerably better rosters.

    Lions are a top two team in the NFC, so not surprised that the talent/cohesiveness gap showed up yesterday. I expect us to hang tough vs. the mid teams, beat the bad teams, and lose to good teams. Right in the squishy middle is about right where we belong.

    Which is why I added very good - parity in the NFL is definitely real, and especially in the NFC there is very little separation from the top to the bottom minus maybe SF. (Who will be down CMC and Deebo for awhile)

    Just so discouraging. Everyone who follows the Cards at all knew that we completely neglected the most important position on a D that was one of the worst in the NFL last season. There is no excuse for failing to acquire a credible pass rusher. Who the hell knows what we have on D...

    Don't get me wrong - I had plenty of problems with play calling/offensive design. My agreement was more to his point about where Kyler stands in the QB hierarchy - he's just not going to be an MVP level guy, and he's much more Kirk Cousins than Josh Allen. Sad but true.

    I guess the idea was that the guys that played major snaps on the interior D-line were off the street FA's, and most are out of the league now, so getting a rotation level questionable starter would be enough to see improvement. Certainly wasn't the case the first game, and freaking ROY LOPEZ...
