maybe we just have a "Twitter Randos" standing thread where if you want to see what Kratos the Fourth has to say about Petzing's power run game -- its a click away
I know its not a bright line between the randos and content types like Johnny Venerable ....
you have to figure the nine were "he was our third round pick, lets give him every opportunity to be the guy / we have no better options here"
i read somewhere that the 3rd round has a ~25% hit rate, so those numbers are in that range
its a premium position -- and Ojulari hasnt proven anything. This year they had enough ammo that buring a couple mid round picks would have been painless.
I would have liked to have added another young edge -- because if both work out it is an easy problem to solve
I thought what Monti said was interesting:
"If you have 5 players at a spot that you like, and you move down 8 spots, you feel pretty good about your chances"
i would have moved up the Jags spot and gotten Dallas Turner
Minnesota went from #23 to #17. In addition to the first swaps --
Minn gave up: 2024 5th (#167), 2025 3rd and 2025 4th
While moving up from 27 is four spots more, the Cards could have packaged a 2024 3rd and a 2024 4th and...
old man post:
draft grades are like Ivy League grades: B is the new "D", C is the new "F".
I suspect many of the graders have scouts on teams that feed them info, and they dont want to make sources look bad
when the actual draft happens, we see how the NFL values certain prospects very differently than media
I dont think its a stretch to think that if the media got Cooper DeJean's pre draft ranking wrong by 20 spots, maybe it got Max Melton's ranking wrong by 20 spots
maybe
but -- i sure saw plenty of games where the opposing QB hit his back foot on his drop and delivered the ball to an open WR
hard to rush the passer when thats happening
im not saying thats the only issue, but pass rush and coverage work hand in hand.

Overview: Amid heavy speculation they’d trade out, the Cardinals at No. 4 stick-and-picked Harrison, the best player in the draft. I’m no fan of their second first-rounder; Robinson is a slightly overaged end-tackle tweener who managed 13...
I think MHJ is a known quantity and will work -- but its the few picks that will tell the tale ( and im talking within the next 2 seasons, not next year):
1. Is Darius Robinson at least a contributing, NFL average DL starter?
2. How does Max Melton compare to DeJean and McKinstry? If one...
very interested to see how the corners play this year
last year at this time, it was:
starters: Marco Wilson, Antonio Hamilton
backups: Ketrel Clark-R, Christian Matthew, Chris Boyd (Garret Wilson on PUP)
I think only Antonio and Clark were on the roster by year end.
this year:
starters...
players that interest me, of no particular order:
Troy Franklin and Dev Walker, WRS -- vertical, speed guys
Jeremiah Trotter, JR-- ILB
Leonard Taylor, DL
a couple guys who had visits:
