Watching the Twins succeed from afar.....

I don't know how good Mikal will get, but he is getting really good with those mid-range jumpers. He is so long that he is almost impossible to defend in those situations. Same applies to driving and cutting to the hoop. I don't think he becomes the best player on a really good team, but he can...

Watching the Twins succeed from afar.....

34 and 15 for our guys tonight in another win. On a side-note, the Nets are paying Simmons about $38M for the rest of this season and next two seasons. They are also paying Joe Harris about $19M per season this year and next.

Watching the Twins succeed from afar.....

I think he was improving and stepping up before the trade. He accelerated his progress with the Nets because he has a much bigger role and a lot less pressure. It's really an ideal situation for him and Cam.

30 points for Bridges. Rough night for Cam.

Interesting evolution of the three point shot since it was instituted using openai. "ChatGPT"

No idea as to the source the other poster used, but the basics of statistics would suggest 46.3% as the correct answer.

Playoff my biggest concern - You won't like this.

They can sign someone like Okogie with mid-level exemption and bi-annual exemption is available to them as well if I remember correctly. Outside of that, player minimums is all they will have.

Suns @ Mavericks Sunday game thread 3-5-2023

I hate complaining about officiating, but this game had some awful officiating. I love Luka as a player, but I cannot stand what the referees are letting get away with. I counted seven clear offensive fouls they did not call on him. It's like watching Shaq back in the day. Huge win, and a...

    Durant to Suns

In my mind, if the Suns win the championship, Barkley just needs to say something about, "I don't care what I said about KD before. He gave my Suns the championship, he's great in my book. Nothing else matters right now." Then he needs to put on a KD jersey and show up to the celebration.

    Buyout Candidates

Probably not, but Goran getting his ring with the Suns would make me very happy.

Watching the Twins succeed from afar.....

I fall into the same category- I am for the trade, though I do have reservations, but I am also following the twins since they are two of my favorite players and I hope they do really well. Ideally, the Suns win it all this year and then Mikal and Cam turn into all-stars.

Watching the Twins succeed from afar.....

It's not Monty. Bridges and Johnson have been improving consistently. They are now on a crappy team where they feel more comfortable taking leading roles. That team is awful, which makes it a perfect situation for those two guys to develop further. It's a change of scenery, much less pressure...

Why can't you just let us be happy seeing our guys play well?

They did a really good job. I've been impressed with both of them. They lost this one, but the twins did a great job. I love watching those guys!

Suns @ Bucks Sunday game thread 2-26-2023

Oh man, I usually find your takes reasonable at the very least, but I really find this take to be very "off." I share most of your concerns about the KD trade, nut when you are this close, you have to go for it. This team needed that superstar, and today's game was a perfect example of that.

Suns @ Bucks Sunday game thread 2-26-2023

Overall, the Suns played well. This looked like a tough, physical playoff game. Sadly, the Bucks were just a little bit better. This was a really good example of why the Suns need KD.

    Playoff Rotation

How I see it: We have the big four: KD Booker Ayton Paul Then we have the fifth starter and the first guy off the bench:ifth starter, and first guy off the bench: Okogie Craig Ross was brought in after Ishbia and Monty talked to him about his role, so he has to have some kind of a role...

I was thinking the same thing. I was legitimately just posting it because I am so happy for Mikal, my favorite player in the league. We can be happy Mikal is doing well and acknowledge that the Suns are in a better spot this year because of the trade. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

That was a hell of a game for Bridges. Glad I decided to watch it. He played really well in the first three quarters and then went crazy in the fourth. I am pretty sure he dropped 20-ish points in the fourth. 45 points, eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks, two steals, 17/24 shooting. Cam...

    Can we talk about Okogie?

TJ is literally the best shot creator on the team outside of Book and the two old men. That's like one thing he can do.
  20. SirStefan32

    Can we talk about Okogie?

Um, you realize 33% shooter is good enough that you can't leave them open as a game plan, right?
  21. SirStefan32

    Can we talk about Okogie?

That's all he needs to shoot as a starter. He doesn't need to be a sniper. He just needs to shoot well enough for other teams to not leave him wide open.
  22. SirStefan32

    Can we talk about Okogie?

Okogie is better on defense than he is on offense. In my mind, that makes him a better fit for the starting unit. Scoring in the starting lineup is not going to be a problem. Off the bench, Warren can score, Ross can score, Payne (upon his return) can score, D. Lee can score, plus I am fairly...

Suns trade for PF Darius Bazley

I don't think anyone is saying that. I believe that the argument is that the Suns improved their chances short-term but hurt their chances long-term. To me, that seams like a reasonable take. I think almost everyone agrees that trading for Durant makes this team a legitimate title contender...

    Can we talk about Okogie?

I actually suggested he be the fifth starter due to his defense. That hinges on him being able to hit SOME open shots. He has been hitting them recently, but his history is not very good.
