    I stand by that and my earlier comment that by not letting the poor MF try a 29-yarder, they sent his already-suffering confidence to below zero. Missed XP at this point hardly a surprise.

    Was it the one on opening day against the Raiders years ago - little dude (I forget his name, fan favorite) runs back the season-opening kick for the TD.. and a promo was on with local builder for a "free house!" to the selected fan IF the OPENING kickoff was returned to the house. BOOM...

    Here's why you kick that short FG earlier: Your sub kicker already has confidence issues after last week. Give him a layup to help him get beyond it. By not trusting him to hit a 29-yarder, you've just added another entire layer of doubt in his mind. Cards will probably need a late kick to win...

    Even the slightest bit of misdirection by the Hags' offense sends the entire Cards defense to the opposite side of the field. Pete will exploit that.
