Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

No, I did post facts (he barely did improve in his 3 NBA seasons, he was entering his 10th season as a pro when he signed his 1st extension), and based on these facts it seems quite unlikely that NBA GM's saw a lot of potential in him back then. No, it is not, because they are not, and also...

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

He was 24, when he signed his 1st extension. Bonkers or not, but he was still the same player at age of 24 as he was at age 21. He still is. Since the cap raised by 70% from 63 mil. to 109 mil. between 2014 and 2019, expecting a small increase in his next contract is absolutely realistic.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

Sure, I will happily do it especially that in this case the Suns will have a starting point guard on a bargain-deal. And I never was a big Rubio-fan.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

The fact that Rubio entering his 10th season as a professional player (who has shown almost zero improvement in his 3 NBA seasons) could not be viewed as someone with untapping potential.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

No, I did not think of Beverley, it was intentionally Bradley. If Beverley gets an MLE-deal (which is very much possible), I think that Rubio can expect significantly more since he is a superior player to Beverley, especially for a team like the Suns.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

No, he was absolutely not, but this is my last post regarding this issue, since you simply keep neglecting facts that I list.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

I disagree. Again, Rubio was not your typical rookie, he spent SIX seasons as a professional basketball player, at very least in the last two as one of the best (if not the best) european players before enteting into the NBA. Then he did put up basically THREE identical seasons in the NBA...

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

No, he was not, see above why. That's Jerami Grant's and Avery Bradley's range. Despite his obvious flaws Rubio is worth more, IMO.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

That's completely wrong. Rubio was not a rising star in 2014. He was already an established player, one of the best players in Europe when he joined to the NBA. His 3rd season (when he signed his new contract in MIN) was almost identical with his rookie season. On the contrary Bledsoe was...

    2019 Free Agency

Suns have 14 mil. cap space. That's much closer to the MLE than to the max.

    2019 Free Agency

Brogdon is obviously out of the Suns' price range/cap space unless we trade Jackson for cap space or stretch Johnson.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

Last time Rubio signed a new contract, it was 55 mil./4 year in MIN. Since the cap increased significantly since then, I doubt that he will settle down for less than 60 mil./4 year.

Luka Doncic Rookie of the Year

Me, but "will" is a bit strong. He still easily might.

Point guard speculation article - Russell hope

Yes, and Rubio was one of the last factors that contributed to those 50 wins. Having said that, he still represents an upgrade at PG for the Suns, but I would reluctantly offer him a multi-year contract.

    Welcome Cam Johnson

Because transition from NCAA to NBA is very tough, and only a very few can successfully make it. I think that Johnson will be one of them is quite far from being pretty certain.

    Welcome Cam Johnson

No, it just does make a player more promising. I wish Johnson was a physical specimen Butler was. Furthermore, I could list countless players who were old coming out and did not even make to the NBA. So, I just don't see how advanced age could count as a positive. If he was that versaite...

    What is the plan?

No, you did not. Basic stats do not provide enough information to decide whether two players have almost equal value or not.

    What is the plan?

Where did you get this from? I just happened to see Saric a lot in both MIN and PHI and I just did not like his defense at all. He is fundamentally sound in defense but quite slow and has zero lift, therefore could not defend the perimeter, neither the rim, and always seemed like a weak point...

    What is the plan?

That is from last season (not from 2017/18), the difference in Covington's favour is much bigger...

    Welcome Jalen Lecque?

    :)

    What is the plan?

It is not me who wants to get into advanced stats, everyone else - especially NBA teams - does. Evaluating players based on their basic stats was out of date even 5 years ago.
  22. H

    What is the plan?

What stats do say that? Slight? They are on a different planet as defenders. Covington is the best defender among SF's based on stats, while Saric is one of the worst defenders at PF.
  23. H

    Welcome Cam Johnson

I did not but Culver is much more versatile and younger than Johnson without health-issues therefore a much better better prospect.
  24. H

    What is the plan?

I think that Covington has significantly higher value than Saric. He was the main piece and Saric the sweetener.

Is this the most unanimously disliked pick in ASFN history?

I have no problem with this new approach, but I do not like the execution. The Warren-trade was simply terrible. The Jerome-trade was contradictional with the Warren-trade. Saric is low value for moving up from #11 to #6. For example, the Pelicans for a similar jump got #17, #35, a future 1st...
