    Nets/Suns Trade

They acquired Rivers who can play some PG and they will be a repeated luxury tax payers this season, so this move would save more than 10 mil. for them. Besides, Satoransky barely played in the play-off, so he is far from a key-contributor.

    Nets/Suns Trade

Tomas Satoransky might be another target. Satoransky, Meeks for Daniels, Harrison with using the DPE works under the cap. WAS saves a lot of money because of lux tax savings and gets a competent 3p-shooter backup SG instead of 19 games absence of Meeks due his violation of the drug policy.

    Nets/Suns Trade

"However the Disabled Player Exception is used, that season must be the final season on the new player’s contract. This means no option years or anything of the sort. No remaining years, no exceptions." That above crosses Jones from the list. Both Dinwiddie and McConnel could be traded for...

    Josh Jackson at PG?

God save us from D'Angelo Russell. He is just a terrible basketball player. I wouldn't even trade a top55 protected 2nd rounder for him.

    Suns fire McD

Yes, Williamson defnitely looks like someone who might bring the Suns one (final) step closer to the end of rebuilding and that's why you still need to keep searching for young talents as your priority.

    Suns fire McD

Yes, that's exactly my point. We were so low that being better than this after 5 years can hardly be considered as a significant accomplishment.

    Suns fire McD

I think we do until we find all of our core players. We have one in Booker. Probably/hopefully a 2nd one in Ayton. Maybe even a 3rd one in Jackson. That's still quite far from announcing the end of rebuilding. Sarver probably thought that we were close to ending the rebuilding when it didn't...

    Suns fire McD

The ChildressWarrick/Turkoglu disaster was such a terrible operation that even Isiah Thomas (the NYK GM) had a hard time to beat its stupidity. Learning from that is such a small step from such a huge depth, that it deserves no appreciation.

    Suns fire McD

    That is not saying much.

    Suns fire McD

That's simply wrong and will lead to even more stupid decisions.

Wonder if Ryan McD knows he is going to be fired....

They did the exact opposite this season by signing Kyle Anderson and trading younger players and a pick for Garrett Temple.

    DeAnthony Melton

The logic behind this is if you are over the cap, you need exceptions to sign players. If you are under the cap, you literally don't need exceptions.
  13. H

    DeAnthony Melton

Because if you want to create cap space, you need to renounce all of your usual exceptions.

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

It decreases our cap space next summer only by 4 mil. Besides Dieng's 16 mil. salary is still much more productive than Anderson's 15 mil. buy-out amount.

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

Anderson, Harrison for Dieng, Jones? The Suns take over the extra year of Dieng for Jones. I guess, MIN would want more.

2018-19 Season | Point Guard Discussion

Jones was a surprisingly effective defender as well last season. He definitely made a significant improvement last year. Holmes, Harrison, 2019 Suns 2nd rounder for Jones works under the cap, but I guess the Wolves would want (at least) the MIL pick.

    DeAnthony Melton

His movement and shooting form remind me of George Hill.

    Trevor Ariza

After spending our cap space it is very unlikely that the Suns can construct a trade for Ball. The Suns were a realistic destination for Ball because we had both the cap room to help the Lakers to get even more cap room and the need for a PG. Now that the Suns' cap space is gone, we would like...

    Updated Timeline

Yes, it is, at very least partially.

    Ayton's Ceiling

I disagree. His floor is Valanciunas, IMO.

    Ayton's Ceiling

No way. Thabeet had bust written on him. Ayton is much more mobile and skilled.

    Ayton's Ceiling

I had the same thought. More fluid Embiid as his ceiling seems spot on.

Igor Kokoskov gets a second interview with the Suns

Kokoskov has a good reputation as assistant coach which is not saying much. We don't really know if he has many headcoaching abilities but at very least he is a solid X-and-O coach as the great run of the slovenian NT has proved.

    2017-2018 Draft Prospects watch.

Yes, on paper Young seems a (much) better shooter, he shot twice more 3P-s with better percentage but he did it against far less competition, so I would reluctantly take that as a clear proof.

    2017-2018 Draft Prospects watch.

I still take Tatum over Jackson but JJ significantly decreased the gap after the All-Star break. Tatum is a much better shooter and a more polished offensive player, while Jackson is more explosive.
