    Mike D'Antoni and Steve Kerr

It's not the fact we won 3 games vs. Spurs but the manner with which we won, the poise, the confidence. As to bench players, Banks was his own choice and he was valuable to Sarver because he declared that he would not play the bench and told Sarver not to bother with it in the first place...

    Mike D'Antoni and Steve Kerr

Not only rookies, he wasn't able to develop anybody's game and make them better players skill-wise. With his gimmcry scheme and Nash's brilliant passes, his "system" could make players appear better on stats. And many mistake it as making players around them better. Amare could have be like he...

Is Playing Barbosa a smart idea?

What vision you've got! The coach apparently listened to you.:D And Gentry has distanced himself from early 1st-round strategy of insisting on Nash playing 40 minutes because it's the playoffs. Instead, he finally bought in into giving Nash sufficient rest to have some fresh legs for the final 6...

Congrats--am supporting the Suns for the NBA Championship

Sure, for the players, they gotta believe this is the year. I was just talking from fans perspective. And I truly believe we can get it done this year already. If Parker couldn't kill us with our improved defense from Nash, the weakest link on defense, it's just won't be easy to score...

What's your honest SUNS vs. SPURS prediction?

I'll admit that I doubted my Suns, or had too much fear for the Spurs, that I predicted only a Suns in 7. But it will be a sweep. :)

Congrats--am supporting the Suns for the NBA Championship

That's my sense too. They beat the Spurs like the Spurs used to do to the Suns, with poise and resilience. And, the best thing is that the evolution of the new Suns hasn't really finished yet. For one, Amare still has holes in his game. He can improve on defense as well as becoming smarter even...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 3 – Suns At Spurs Game Thread

That's evidence of Gentry's trust paying off. LB played with heart even though on defense it looked so awkward as it used to be with Amare. Certainly the smallballl lineup in the fourth next to Dragic made his life also easier.:)

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 3 – Suns At Spurs Game Thread

Manu just acknowledging that the way Suns killed them was demoralizing! Just what I thought and why I was confident going into this game. It's not about we won games, but the manner we did it just tell us that this Spurs aren't gonna stop us whatsoever.

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 3 – Suns At Spurs Game Thread

Also, I like Gentry's adjustment more and more. In the 2nd, while in a big hole, Dragic wasn't much of a help on offense. He put Nash back in around 8:30. Then, 2:30 in the third, he subbed in Dragic in for Nash, unlike usually after the break, making sure that Nash would come back around 7:00...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 3 – Suns At Spurs Game Thread

The way we win it is the confidence we have in the team and particular our defense. We are not relying on any particular person's points any more, this lifts the burden and pressure off our players from LB, Dragic, to Frye, and even JRich. Amare was rushing it all game with shots but he made...

    Why start Collins??

This is a war of attrition. It's now how you start it but how you finish it. Do you think Frye would have any legs left to hit those huge 3s if he were to take on TD at his highest energy level? Let Collins bang him and wear him even so slightly out. Also, seeing how the opponents are operating...

Is Playing Barbosa a smart idea?

With LB is the problem that he has to be reminded that DAs are long gone and hassle and defense, not up and down risk-taking drives, is the focus for the bench guys. He is not as good in this role but at least is an athletic body stretching opp. defense. Occasionally, we might get huge burst...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 2 – Spurs At Suns Game Thread

Gentry did very good job adjusting. - Amare got fronted several times by Blair. TO, they found way to work around that for great results. - When TD was the only big in there in the 4th, play small and force TD to cover Frye, for a couple huge 3s. Then, when Pop switched RJ on Frye, iso-ed Hill...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 1 – Spurs At Suns Game Thread

That's because Gentry seems to be honest with Amare and trust him and as the first coach gave him the chance to become the "point forward/center" we heard about since 2006 or so. DA told him that, I guess, but only as lipservice and never trusted anyone else but Nash and Diaw for ball handling...

What's your honest SUNS vs. SPURS prediction?

How Nash's health holds up will decide whether we win in 5 or 7. As I expect he won't sustain this for all games, it's more likely in 7. Go Suns!

Greetings Suns Fans-I look forward to a spirited competition.

Suns offense tonight was a little atypical in that Nash focused on scoring because Spurs let him. In fact, the Nash-Amare 2-man game was quite bad tonight. For some reason Nash was over hesitant to deliver a pass at an early moment. In fact, Spurs came back with fastbreaks that surprised Suns...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 1 – Spurs At Suns Game Thread

True. It's only so much potential within their big 3. As long as we play disciplined defense and not let their scrubs other than the big 3 get hot, like we used to have the tendency to in giving Mason the title of Suns killer for example, we should be fine. That's why Pop was experimenting with...

Spurs vs Suns 2010 Playoff Thread

The story line for me is that nobody other than the big 3 from Spurs went off on us like earlier when either Mason, Blair, Dice or Bonner did. This means in particular our weakest link on defense has improved a lot by giving effort to rotate etc. Pop certainly tried out his rarely used players...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Semifinals, Game 1 – Spurs At Suns Game Thread

That's why I have been preaching to adopt game plan to save Nash's energy throughout regular season. When he is healthy shooting like that and putting in effort on the defensive end at the same time, we are hard to beat. And tonight his 2-man game with Amare was even a little off. He mostly...

This Canzano person seems to be seriously mentally ill.:mulli:

Greetings Suns Fans-I look forward to a spirited competition.

True. But one reason refs stopped calling them were Grant Hill's posture and footwork. He never jumped at Miller or did the stupid last moment reaching in to bail him out, Frye or Amare would do. So, it depends.

Spurs vs Suns 2010 Playoff Thread

Actually, I'm quite positive that one of Frye, Dudley, LB, and Grant will go off offensively in any game in this series. Amare will dominate consistently and JRich, Nash and Dragic will be playing up to their levels in most games. So, it's a question whether Nash could hold it against...

    Dallas vs Spurs

Agree. Bosh just doesn't affect the game Dirk and Amare can, despite a great scorer himself. Dirk is clutch and Amare sets picks and runs and cuts better than any bigman. But I don't want Tyrus. Lou is equally good if not better already. JO or Amir J would be fine though.
