I agree Hump isn't playing as well but a quality LG next to him would help.
If Monti follows your plan I wouldn't be upset. I do think Hump is part of the culture they are trying to establish.
I draft a LT and play him at LG and keep Hump for another year or two. Draft Van Pran and let him and Frodo battle for OC. I like Frodo more for depth than as a starter. I also draft another IOL on day 3.
I see him more and more around the ball and making plays. I guess starting the year injured and missing OTAs and TC etc was a solid explanation for his slow start.
Bengals struggled so far because Burroughs playing with an injured calf. Almost all his throws are less than 10 yards.
Each week it heals more and more, at some point he will be back to his pro bowl self
