OT: Nick Saban retiring from Alabama

Legend! The Bear, Gene Stallings, and Nick Saban. What a gauntlet of awesome coaches at Bama.

Seahawks at Cardinals gameday thread 1-7-24

Is it just me, but the field looks much better at least seeing it on TV. Not nearly as many divots.

Is Connor the best back the Cards have had since they have been in Arizona?

The Positive Kyler Murray News Thread

Baldi has always had a soft spot for the Cardinals. He loved them way back when Jake took them to the playoffs in 98. Baldi also called Eric Swann the scariest player he ever faced. Pretty cool to have a respected media guy in Cards corner.

    Malik Nabors vs Alabama

I am not putting Malik Nabors as equal to Marvin Harrison Jr., but Nabors is still super elite. Fast, strong, super tough. Nabors carved up Alabama’s defense with 10 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown. Those LSU receivers translate really well to the NFL and Nabors is the next. He is...

Losing the lower pick surely sucks.

They have something working in Chicago. Don’t be surprised if they take Harrison #1 overall and then take the OT with the 2nd 1st round pick.

    A Can’t Lose Scenario

Harry, awesome write up! Question: do you think the Cardinals get a better trade return if they trade early (March) or wait to closer to the draft?

Cardinals at Bears gameday thread 12-24-23

That sack just summed up Kyler Murray. No pocket awareness, turns head instead of looking downfield. These are habits that can’t be taught out of him.

I really like Mike Pittman Jr from Indy. Add in a 1st round rookie wideout and Cards will be ready to roll next year.

Quinn Evers with 354 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 1st half of Big 12 championship. Has some Favre and Plummer to his game.

Interesting Stat: K Murray is 0-4 in games right after Thanksgiving.

I believe the most difficult prep week for an NFL player during the regular season has to be Thanksgiving Week. It’s getting late in the year, your prep week is off some with the holiday on Thursday, and just the motivation factor after celebrating Thanksgiving with family and friends. We normal...

    The Next Step For Murray

Is there a situation where the Cards draft Maye or Williams and just keep Kyler for 2024 and then dump him to help with the cap savings?

JerZhan Newton is such a beast. He is just destroying Wisconsin’s offensive line.

    2024 Draft Countdown/NFL Prospects thread

I watch most Illinois games. JerZhan Newton constantly get’s double and even triple teamed and still makes plays. On those rare occasions he get’s a one on one, he destroys that lineman. Constant motor with great explosiveness. Don’t look at just the stats with him. Teams know he is the only...

    2024 Draft Countdown/NFL Prospects thread

I was watching the Illinois vs Maryland game yesterday and there was one play that JerZhan Newton made that just made me a huge fan. Maryland was facing a 4th and goal from about the 3 yard line. Ball is snapped and Newton just obliterates the guard. He does his job without trying to play...

Can Josh Dobbs be our Geno Smith?

There are quite a few similarities playing out that would suggest that Dobbs can fill the mid level Geno Smith role with the Big Red. Remember that Seattle brought in the kid from Denver (Lock)to be their starter for 2022. Geno was brought in as the back up because that is what he had been for...

    CFB & Prospect Discussion Thread:

I was at the Illinois vs Ohio State game where Nick Bosa has zero tackles, zero tackles for loss, zero pressures, and zero sacks. Illinois sucked that year. If his last name wasn’t on the back of his jersey, I would have guessed he would be an undrafted free agent. Anderson is knocked for the...

ESPN Special Draft Featured: W Anderson, B Robinson, K Ringo, M Duggan

Sometimes it’s good to remember that these draft prospects are more than just football players. ESPN is running a series of Draft specials focusing more on the personal stories of the prospects instead of just football. The special I watched today ran stories on Will Anderson Jr and the huge...

    Prospects Per Round

I saw most games that Devin Witherspoon played. He always stuck out and was the best player on the field on most occasions.
  21. Lomax to Green 84

Will Anderson Jr is that rare prospect who checks all the boxes.

It is really rare when an organization can select a player who truly checks all the boxes. I would assume a GM and scouting department would evaluate a prospect on the following criteria: production, athletic talent, plays a premium position, football IQ, production against elite competition...

Taking a QB at #3: Is it really that far fetched?

The prospect of landing a potential defensive superstar at #3 is so enticing. I have been an Alabama fan forever and Will Anderson is just so good and checks all the boxes from talent, production, and character. He is my slam dunk pick at #3. As obvious as Anderson or Jalen Carter seem to be...

    Cardinals Head Coaching Candidates 2023

Here is another interesting tidbit connecting Aaron Glenn to the Cardinals: Apparently he knows Kyler Murray and Kyler’s family. Could Glenn be the father figure that brings out the best in Kyler?

    Cardinals Head Coaching Candidates 2023

I agree. Isn’t it considered kind of taboo to hire a head coach during the actual lead up to the Big Game? Sunday would be perfect as the new coach could make the rounds during bowl week, but also not create a distraction. The Cards hiring a head coach next Wednesday or Thursday would be a bad...

    Cardinals Head Coaching Candidates 2023

Aaron Glenn would definitely bring credentials not only as a coach who has more than paid his dues, but also as a former player. Glenn was a heck of a good defensive back (borderline hall of fame candidate). The Lions defense really took it to a different level the 2nd half of the season.
