Markieff Morris is now a SUN

I think Morris on paper is a good fit. He has some offnsive skills and still plays defense and rebounds. If he fail, it will be because the coaching staff didn't motivate him adequately. You always want a really self motivated player, but some talented guys don't understand. If Morris is...

2011 NBA Draft- Day of Thread

At this point my reaction is that it could have been worse. I don't know if Morris is who we need, but at least he's a real PF and not an out of position SF. Have they passed on anobviously better prospect? Some of the guys left may be reallly good, but I don't think we are missing any all-stars.

    Lopez trade?

I'd be interested if the training staff has given up on Lopez. If he is not going to get to at least where he was a year ago, then this is not a bad move.

Per Gambo: Suns Prefer Iman Shumpert over Jimmer

Shumpert did not get good reviews when he played with Favors and Lawal. I can certainly see the value of a top defender, but I'm not clear whey his shooting was so poor for the three 27.8% .

    Anatomy of a Sleeper

DX has the two going back to back in the first round My concern is that he's not a great offensive player nor a proven PG. He has two inches in wing span over Jenkins and two pounds. I guess Schumpert will go earlier due to playing on a much better known team. We'll see.

    Anatomy of a Sleeper

I'm disappointed there has been no discussion of my prospect, Charles Jenkins or at least a discussion of other sleepers In any case, Jenkins has the potential of being a like Barbosa off the bench but with the defensive skills. I don't know if he is going to be a future Suns PG, but might be...

Jimmer won't be there at #13.

If being a GM was easy, there would not be so manny lottery teams that stay down year after year nor so few championship teams. There have been some articles about sports in the Valley and the conclusion is that this is a terrible sports town. Nobody is from here and there aren't...

Suns look to trade up to #2 for Williams

Nothing worries me more than trading really good players for "can' miss" prospects. Remember 2001 when Kwame Brown was the #1 pick. Chandler was #2 (he did not became any good until after he was gone) and Eddy Curry was #4. Eddie Griffin went #7 and Diop #8 and Rodney White #9. Granted few...

    Suns FO Should be Embarrassed

I agree. I don't think Sarver is evil nor stupid. The problem is that he is NOT a basketball genius nor does he have Cuban's wealth to buy his way out of his mistakes. I think we forget how many blunders Brian Colangelo made before jumping ship to Toronto. BC was named GM of the year in...

    The Nash Dilemma

I agree with those who see this debate as pointess since nobody is giving the Suns anything of serious value for him. He is not worth that much to really good teams and in an era where defense is king, why do people keep fantising about getting a first round pick for him? Remind me, how many...

    2011 Suns Draft Workouts

Since we have no history on Babee (sic?) and blanks; does failure to give a public workout mean no interest? It has always been doubtful that teams make up their mind mostly due to how he does at a workout. A case could be made that including someone in a workout might induce other teams to...

    Anatomy of a Sleeper

After the fist half dozen picks in the NBA draft, it is very hard to make a good pick. Every prospect has holes in this game and by mid first round failures are very common. Some guys turn out to be total busts like Earl Clark and other take forever to develop like Robin Lopez. As a rule teams...

    It's Not Just LeBron

I feel like this is becoming more like a college game where three point shooting is often decisive. Having a 13 to 8 addvantage in three point shooting in game 5 was decisive. If the Mavs win, they may lead to a rush tward shooters

    It's Not Just LeBron

I know a lot of us were surprised at the success of the Mavs after the other Eastern Conference powers were decimated bu the Heat. A lot or reporters have obsessed about LeBronts lack of scoring. Somehow the matchup issues with the Mavs has been ignored. Game 5 was illustrative. The Heat shot...

Suns look to trade up to #2 for Williams

Gortat has been a statistic machine in the Sun's weakest area. I can't figure out why Slin has this perverse desire to trade the best center I've seen them wiith foar a long long time. As for getting Williams, I can understand why the Wolves do't want to pay 2nd pick money for a guy suffering...

    Developing A "Lock Down" Offense

Coaches are always talking about defense. Its understandable, at crunch time everyone wants to sop the opponent and the team with the best defense typically wins. Unless they don't. The sad truth is that most teams struggle to score against teams with great defenses. This is what killed the...

    2011 Draft Thread

I'm more inclined to go for a power inside guy than a project point guard. I am very skeptical of Fredette because I don't think the Suns need another poor defender at PG. It is not out of the question that the Suns may trade out of 13 since there are some decent players that would reachs...

    Tired to the Playoffs Yet?

I am probably listening to too much ESPN radio, but I kept hoping the Heat would get beaten and they've just proven the "money can't buy hppiness, just championships".

    Tired to the Playoffs Yet?

The NBA is becoming a joke. The commentators have given up trying to pretend that the finals aren't all but certain at the start of the season. What's the point? The problem is that the NBA will never become competative as long as their is colusion between the coaches to limit foul calls in...

    Robin Lopez

I suspect that Robin's play in 2009-10 was assisted by Amare playing so well that he drew double teams. In any case, the back probelms make me think the Suns are going to need to get another tough guy.

    Next Season

I am not sure if Babby/Blanks are making the call or Sarver. Server did such a terrible job of it last season, there is some hope he will bow out of it.

    Next Season

    1. LOST SEASON I don't know when the Suns next season will be I'm not convinced there will be ANY season in the 2011-12 period. My reason is that the owners cannot afford the status quo. Miami is projected to have $65 million contracted for just six guys starting in 2012-13 going up to $71...

    2011 Draft Thread

I'm not that excited about Jimmer. I remember the guy from "Gonzaga that went third in the draft and didn't finish the season. I know Jimmer has more range, a quick release, etc., still I don't like repeating the Jacobson fiasco. At best he reminds me of Redick. What's wrong with Redick? In...

    2011 Draft Thread

I've been away. I can't even get through the 50 pages of this topic. Since I am reacting to posts made 20 0r 30 PAGES back, I'll assume everything I am writing about has been discussed. 1. I DOUBT NASH HAS MUCH TRADE VALUE: Maybe after his contract runs out, but I doubt it. The top teams are...

So, what is it about Zack Randolph?

I don't see much else that needs to be said. He was very immature and failed as a "leader" when he had to carry the team. This is a vastly better collection of players and they are finding a way to use him without betting burned.
