Murray may not run at Pro Day Today (3/13)

Yeah - Mahomes & Watson did face a lot of criticism, skepticism, and hate during their draft process. They also got drafted at #10 and #12, respectively. Not at #1 overall. Usually players that are extremely risky and hard to project do not go #1 overall. I don't think that it's ridiculous...

How credible is Matt Miller? Interesting things he said.

Matt Miller is a big 49ers fan that wants Nick Bosa. I honestly do wonder about his motives. He’s been at the forefront of stirring the pot with all the Kyler Murray to Arizona talk. Even before he was mocking Murray to Arizona - he was mocking them Quinnen Williams. He REALLY want Bosa to...

Murray to Cards a "done deal"

Lamar Jackson dominated college football and “mastered” the Bobby Petrino offense. Lamar Jackson also scored a 13 on the wonderlic. You don’t have to be a student of the game to dominate college football.

Cardinals listed as favorites to land Antonio Brown

I agree that he's said some stupid stuff in terms of blaming others for things that he had some control over - but I don't think he's erratic like Schilling. Ben has gotten criticized for calling out teammates in the media. Now I don't think that's always the best solution in the world, but...

Cardinals listed as favorites to land Antonio Brown

Not exactly. I'm sure Ben doesn't care what your average pissant thinks - and nor should he. People pick and choose to talk about whatever fits their narrative. If you don't like Ben - you call him a rapist. That doesn't change he fact that he's the only thing keeping the Steelers alive...

Cardinals listed as favorites to land Antonio Brown

I gotta say - the narrative out there on Ben is absolutely ridiculous. I mean seriously. The guy is a HOF QB who is the entire backbone of that team. Say what you want about his (alleged) past, but Ben has been nothing but professional the great majority of his career. Now that his career...

Murray to Cards a "done deal"

Speaking of which - F Kurt Warner. I will always appreciate what he did for this franchise, but thanks for throwing our franchise QB under the bus with such a ridiculous comment. What a jerk.

    How Do You Measure Risk

That's fine - but you aren't just evaluating QBs at #1 overall. You have to weigh the combination of Rosen & Bosa vs. Murray & (Rosen trade return). Making that decision requires more than just QB knowledge. Side note - why does no one give Keim credit for bringing in Carson Palmer? Even...

    How Do You Measure Risk

Considering Mayfield was a walk-on at Texas Tech, I struggle to credit Kliff for "recruiting" him. Let's not forget Kliff also ran Baker off to go walk on at another school after seeing him play for a year. Not exactly the best look. Kliff also recruited every player on a defense that was...

Who is your ultimate boom or bust player in the draft

Where to begin... 1. You are drastically overrating the difference between playing 4-3 DE and 3-4 OLB. A guy like Bosa will rarely be asked to drop into coverage. Even when he does drop into coverage, he will be asked to literally do the bare minimum. And whether he is amazing or terrible...

    How Do You Measure Risk

Yikes. I could not disagree more. You have the #1 pick in the draft. You don't let your rookie NFL head coach, who has literally zero NFL experience and no track record for evaluating NFL talent, make arguably the biggest decision in franchise history. Letting Kliff make the decision would...

    Bosa?? or Allen??

It's not exactly fair to compare box scores between Allen & Bosa. Bosa played on a loaded defensive line and rotated with a bunch of future NFL players during his Freshman & Sophomore seasons. Just at DE, Bosa played with: - Tyquan Lewis (2018 2nd Round Pick) - Sam Hubbard (2018 3rd Round...

    Bosa?? or Allen??

If we're talking about "in the moment" and without hindsight - it's not like that at all, actually lol. Doncic was far from the consensus #1 guy. If anything - Ayton was the consensus #1 guy, even if it wasn't an overwhelming consensus. Bosa is the overwhelming consensus #1 guy right now...

How long have you been a Cardinal fan?

I started following the Cardinals in 2003, when I was 10 years old. I grew up in Pittsburgh, but I was the only one in my family born & raised exclusively in Pittsburgh, so we were never exactly die hard Steelers fans. Anyways - I loved Anquan Boldin at Florida State, and just found myself...

All the pundits saying we should trade Rosen is all we need to know, IMO

Please. It's not as simple as "he sucks - move on". What does "move on" mean to you? What are you getting in return? If someone offers us three first round picks for Josh - okay, maybe you consider it. If someone offers two future second round picks for Josh - you hang up the phone, and...

Trading Rosen and trading down for Murray might be a great idea

I'm saying that you can do whatever mental gymnastics you want to convince yourself of anything. You are proving that. If you REALLY think Murray is a mix of the best qualities off Baker Mayfield, Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Michael Vick, and Tarik Cohen, them I don't know...

Trading Rosen and trading down for Murray might be a great idea

No idea what point you are trying to make here. You say you've seen "many QBs like Rosen" that have had disappointing careers. We've also seen many (even if the # is far less) turn into quality NFL QBs. You then go on to hype up Kyler - despite the fact that we have NEVER seen anybody like...

    Bosa?? or Allen??

Says who? If the Cardinals don't pick Bosa #1, the 49ers will rush to the podium to pick him. Not all injuries are evaluated the same way. Core muscle injuries don't tend to linger or have long-lasting effects. It's also not something that is going to affect his movement ability whatsoever...

Nick Bosa vs Quinnen Williams. Your Pros/Cons of drafting 1?

Bosa is either a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLB. He’s nowhere near big enough to be a 3-4 DE. With that being said, most NFL defenses are in the nickel probably about 70% of the time. Either way he’ll be an edge rusher with his hand on the ground the majority of the time.

Best #1 pick for 3-4 Defense

Neither of those guys are 3-4 DE. They are both edge rushers that you would consider to be typical 4-3 DEs.

OT QB Dwayne Haskins will enter draft

Bosa is not even close to being a 3-4 DE. There is absolutely no doubt that he would be an OLB. He's an elite pass rusher that is not nearly big enough to play DE in a 3-4.

OT QB Dwayne Haskins will enter draft

    1. The "biggest skillset" in a player is NOT availability. There's no way you actually believe that. The 49ers once spent a 3rd round pick on Marcus Lattimore, who had a likely career ending injury. The Cowboys spent a 2nd round pick on Jaylon Smith, despite him having possible nerve damage...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

I would advise you to either rewatch the game, or just never enter the scouting business lol... With that being said, I would have no issue taking Jonah Williams if we traded down for a ridiculous offer - he just should not be in consideration at #1.
  24. scandalous_b

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Bosa dominated for all 2.5 years of college football that he played. He was the unquestioned star on a defensive line that was LOADED with NFL talent. All the pass rushing advanced metrics support the fact that Bosa was the most dominant pass rusher in all of college football - and by a pretty...
