OT QB Dwayne Haskins will enter draft

Again - I just don’t want people getting the wrong impression about Haskins. His mobility is nowhere near that of Watson, and I don’t even think he’s that close to Ben. Ben is at least mobile in the pocket and good at using his feet (and his size) to avoid pressure. Ben is also at his best...

OT QB Dwayne Haskins will enter draft

Just want to make it clear - Haskins is not at all mobile. The modern Ohio State offense has always relied heavily on the read-option, but was relatively ineffective this year mostly because Haskins’ inability to run. It reached the point that Ohio State would bring in their backup QB (Tate...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Joey Bosa has 28.5 sacks in 35 career games in 3 years in the NFL. That's excellent production despite missing the majority of this year with a foot injury. His dad had a knee injury in the late 1980s when a knee injury destroyed careers. It's a fair thing to question, but its just not...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Okay well Bruce Smith was selected #1 overall, and I would take a Smith quality player over Suggs any day. Tom Brady was selected #199 overall - maybe we should trade #1 overall for a bunch of 6th round picks so we can get another Tom Brady level player. Do you see how terrible that logic is...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Suggs being the 10th pick has nothing to do with anything. You can pick any spot in the draft and find an instance of where a great player was selected. The point is that trading back provides an inherent risk because, while you have more picks, you have them for a lesser pool of talent. Do...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

He tore his ACL duing his senior year of high school. Then his season ended this year with a "core muscle injury" that required surgery. Neither injury is thought to be of any concern going forward, but I would understand if those injuries made you dig a little deeper into his health.

    OT: Trouble in Pittsburgh

You need to research those alleged incidents again. Just because you are accused of something and settle outside of court does not mean that you are guilty.

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

In a vacuum, sure that might be true. However, there's a reason why Bosa has been the consensus #1 pick for this entire season. The difference between him and who would be available at #5 overall is probably more significant than in past years because of the lack of top QB prospects.

    OT: Trouble in Pittsburgh

I'm not saying Ben is the greatest human being to ever walk the Earth, but what do past shaky as hell allegations have to do with any of this? Why not bring up all of Antonio Brown's problems? https://www.wtae.com/article/steelers-antonio-brown-keeps-kids-waiting-at-childrens-hospital/22705245...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

I'm glad you've done your research. I just don't think people on here realize how good and advanced he is. I can't imagine the majority of Cardinals fans have ever actually seen him play and are just looking at his stats or whatever. If this were a draft that had an elite QB that teams were...

He wasn't going to be healthy enough to play for the rest of the season regardless, so whats the difference? Clearly the majority of players & coaches didn't have a problem with his decision...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Those statements are incredibly misleading though. While you claim the best player of a draft is rarely the #1 rated/drafted player, I would guarantee that the hit rate is higher for the consensus #1 rated player than any other individual pick. You're comparing the #1 rated player to the...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

If you want to use team success as your key metric to measure the value of an individual - that's on you. By your logic - lets trade Patrick Peterson to the Patriots for Nate Ebner. Ebner has won 2 Super Bowls to Peterson's none. He's also made the playoffs every single year. He has to be a...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Actually - you're equally as likely to get those 10 solid NFL starters in both scenarios. There's a 0% chance of getting 10 solid NFL starters with anything less than 10 picks. Besides that - just because you say that having 3 or 4 picks in the top 50 is more likely to hit than having 2 picks...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

What if all 32 first round picks are busts and out of the league within 3 years, and all 40ish 7th round picks are hall of famers. That scenario is possible too. Maybe we should trade the #1 pick for as many 7th round picks as we can get. Probability doesn't work the way that you think it...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Sure nothing is certain, but that doesn't mean that the odds are equal. I would bet that the likelihood of getting one "star player" is more likely if you have the #1 pick vs. if you have the #10 and #20 picks.

Nick Bosa-How does he compare with Clowney and Garrett?

I don't think anybody is saying that DTs aren't difference makers. You can't measure value in binary terms like that. Ed Oliver is seen as an elite run defender who has pass rushing upside, but lacks the consistency & production at the college level. If given the choice between a DT with A)...

Nick Bosa-How does he compare with Clowney and Garrett?

It's not even polish that he lacks. Donald was/is a lot more explosive despite playing at a heavier weight. They say that Ed Oliver would have to add weight to hold up as an interior pass rusher. Do you really think adding 15-20 lbs is going to make him more explosive? I'm not trying to...

    1. Medicine has come a long way since the 1980s. 2. That's not how probability works. 3. He is among the elite of the elite for bloodlines when it comes to NFL draft prospects. While his father & uncle may be busts, I would be more than happy to compare their achievements to that of the...

The desperate desire to trade down is frustrating

Nick Bosa dominated at Ohio State. His brother Joey was drafted at #3 overall and is one of the best pass rushers currently in the NFL. His dad was a 1st round pick as a DE. His uncle was a 1st round pick as a DE. What makes you think that Nick won't be good or worthy of the #1 pick?

Nick Bosa-How does he compare with Clowney and Garrett?

Todd McShay had him at #12 in his latest mock draft. There is concern about how good he really is as a pass rusher. People want to compare him to Aaron Donald, but he has no where near the explosiveness or production to back it up. Ed Oliver had 13.5 sacks in his career at Houston (32 games)...
