    The Official Hot Stove thread

Floyd and Roberts are both 32 and hit around .260 last year. Roberts has some speed, but I don't see the upgrade over Danny, and Floyd is much more expensive (6.5 mill. last year). To me, Dunn is a younger Sexson with a very low contract, but I can't see Cincinatti parting with him. ESPN has...

    D'backs close to trade

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I'd like to see Podsednik in center, so we need to get the White Sox back in the Randy sweepstakes. I know he did not shine last year, but I loved it when Womak was stealing bases. We even got to see Jay Bell hit over 30 hrs that year.

    Pendergast For President

He's pretty young, around 37 or 38. Grew up right here in Tolleson, my wife went to school with him. He was too short to play football at U of A. I can't see him being a head coach at that age.

    Trade rumors

I keep hearing local journalist saying Fins will come back. If we trade Randy, Why? We are the worst team in the league this year and looking to trade our 2 best players, why would he be so hip to come back, when San Diego is becoming a contender. Optimism is free, but I'd like to hear him...

    Bass Tournement

Hope it is not as windy as today. Fished in a tournament today and just about got blown off the lake. There were over 250 boats in 3 tournaments today, and I'm sure the Cards won't be the only tournament. Also, if you do come from out of state, make sure you go to the right marina, boat dock...

    3 of the 6 UDFA

I don't know anytjinmg about the kid form UNLV, but Shaud Williams from Ala. was very quick at the line, and often lined up in the slot, just like Shaun Alexander did. Unfortunatley Buffalo got him, probably as a third down back because I imagine it's time for McGehee (sp?) to play.

    Little charged with felony

Unless MO has a lot easier laws than we do, he do jail time. The NFL would be doing him a favor by suspending him at least a year. Don't think substance abuse problems are that big of a deal, ask Luis Sharpe when you can catch him clean. Suspending him mayt add years to his life,m and others...

A tactless move by the Chargers

I agree with all of you on Eli, and I hope he has a rough time, but as a father, I feel for Archie. Most of us will do whatever we think is right for our kid, even if we would not have done it ourselves. He was a nervous wreck yesterday, and I think it showed his lack of comfort with the...

Who can we trade to Green Bay?

The Packers are definately not looking to keep McKenzie if their first 2 picks are corners. Unfortunatley I can't think of anyone that we could trade that the Packers really want. Be interesting to see who gets him. But I'd rather take him than someone in the 4th round.

    St. Louis series thread

I was at the game and don't know if the fans were booing Daigle or Brenley for not pulling him earlier in the third (when the fifth home run was hit) but it was in poor taste in my opinion. The kid wasn't trying to throw bp. Hope he can come back strong. I also think Reggie and Tony gave...

Even If They Sign No One Else

I too, really enjoy your posts, just a fan not a pro. I am surpirsed you didn't mention what happened the end of last year as well. Someone else posted about tying up Shelton, etc. and I have to totally agree. With the way bonuses are being thrown about this year, we would have lost LJ in...

    Jets sign...

I'm not sure, because I couldn't find a source, but I think Stark's signing bonus was only 5 million. 10 million was what Randy Moss got, albeit that was a couple years ago. But if we have to cut Starks due to constant injury problems, we don't have to pay a huge balence of a signing bonus...

    Jets sign...

A 10 million signing bonus for a 5' 9" corner that has never been to the pro bowl is a good deal. I'd agree he was the best available, but that is a hell of a price. We'll pay similar money for the 3rd pick (a couple million more). Its the same with Robaire, big time bucks for a good player...

I was just on thier website and saw nothing about it, you sure? I hope you are wrong.

    DBacks sign Roberto Alomar

This does sound bogus, or something else is up. Baerga could spot Kata if he hits like most of last season again. Besides, I would not be surprised to see them give Hairston a try at second if Kata doesn't work out. So maybe they are trading Kata, trying Alomar in right field, or Gambo's...

    Jacque Jones headed to desert?

I'd prefer to hang on to Mantei. If Valverde has some of the problems he did in double AA, we'll need a solid closer if we are to compete. If we can't compete, Matt might be worth a lot more in July when other teams that are desperate for a closer to make their run are shopping.

    Colby is back

If Kim is not a head case, explain flipping off Boston fans at home and getting benched for the series. Kind of an important 7 games not to have him on the roster. I don't think his attitude was all a figment of the media's imagination.

Sexson is a D-Back, But did we give too much?

Two points A lot of speculation, with a lot of it wrong. Please see ESPN article http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1675283 Counsel and Spivey together will make 5.5 million which has brewer fans angry. My bet is we forced them to take Spivey, since they seem to have a hot shot...

    ESPN is reporting

You guys don't really think Joe is making these decisions, do you. Jerry is cutting payroll and Joe Jr. is doing the best he can to keep the team competitive. I appreciate it personally, because I already have paid for my tickets.

    ESPN is reporting

I'm betting they had to get rid of Junior and Counsel so they could sign Sexson to an extension. I looked forward to watching Capuano after the second time he came up, but you have to give up something to get something. Wouldn't surprise me to see Junior go to the all star game again. As long...

    Your 2004 Arizona Diamondbacks?

I've got to agree with Ryan, I don't think we will find many takers for Mantei at over 7 million. But as long as we're playing fantasy baseball, why not start a rumor of Mantei and Bautista for Trot Nixon, save salary and improve. The last piece the Red Sox need is a good closer, and a healthy...

Schilling willing to give up no trade clause

Weaver's got 2 more years at > 6 million so he better pick it up if we get him. I don't think they will bite of on that one, but Soriano in right, Spivey at second; it would be nice to see some speed back.
