    Dbacks moves?

Gambo has an inside track on coyotes, not sure I trust him on Dbacks. I'd love to see Sexson, but I'd hate to lose Junior. I don't think we've seen how good he can be yet. He has the potential for power as well. Of course, I'm sure Milwakee will want some return. I'm just not sold on Kata...

this is an interesting quote in azrepublic..

There is certainly blame to go around, but just look at the off season. Our most glaring hole was DLine, primarily DEnd. So the league leader in sacks becomes a free agent and leaves Philadelphia but do we even try? Nope, too much money and he's too old. Emmits young? What about Sam Adams...

Okay, Now Can We Get Serious

Why drop any comments? The report form the Cardinal Brass was Wilkenson was too old (but young enough to be in our backfield half the day), and the same with Marco Coleman. We'll see how he does against Tampa Bay. He's right, the adminsitration has done little to nothing to improve our pass...

    Mark Grace speaks out!

Funny, I kind of read it the other way, that the ball players were not preparing themselves for each pitcher, etc.

    post season tickets

I'm waiting as well. They need three good consistent hitters, 2 more besides Gonzo. We added another good streaker in Hillenbrand, and Fins carried the team for his 2 months, Cintron has some moments. But for them to win, even with Randy back in good form, we need to have more consistency...

    replay on DISH

I've got DISH and couldn't/don't see any of the channels listed for the replay on the Cards site listed. Does anyone know the time and what channel it would be on DISH? or am I screwed? Thanks Stan

    2003 Projections

I think I'd have to give his system some credit. From somebody who works with statistics for a living, those predictions are pretty damn close, and no one expects a model to be perfect. At least they shouldn't, and that's probably why so many people get turned off by them.

How are we with the salary cap?

I tend to be a reader and not a poster, but I remember some you pointed out the cardinals have to spend at least a certain percentage of salary cap before the season starts. Have they made this minimum? Or do they have to get a couple guys like LJ to re-up before the season starts, or pick up...

    Raul Mondesi to D'backs?

I'd much rather see Brian GIles, and 8 million is a lot cheaper than 13. Plus he's on contract through 2006. Great attitude and Schill says he's the toughest out in the NL. With Fins cooled off, we have to have another batter besides Gonzo. Look what happened last year agianst the cards in...

Season thread. The Diamondbacks start their run to the playoffs tonight

I'd like to see that play at first again, Looked like Carlos beat the throw to me, but it doesn't make a damn bit of difference.

Lyle Overbay is not helping the team!

Well, for once your management is still trying to get things done. Maybe there is hope for Bidwill and the Cardinals. Oh excuse me, I'm being irrational again, I did way too many drugs in college.

Season thread. The Diamondbacks start their run to the playoffs tonight

If the D'backs make the playoffs, no matter if they win the division or the wildcard, and they have Unit and Schilling healthy, they'll have as good of a shot to win the World Series as anyone. I agree, but only if we keep hitting. Remember last years season against the Cardinals, with a...

Lyle Overbay is not helping the team!

Please, I'm not being cynical but I can't understand the above post. And I'd like to as you have a much better handle on the minor league system than I. Do you mean that Hammock will be sent to Lancaster, if so, Why do you think so? Or was Barajas? And last, you think our hitting coach at...

    That's more like it!

I hope both kids are for "real". It's good for baseball, especially since one of them is on the Dbacks.

    Wohack traded

It gives him a chance to prove that he still belongs in the major leagues, and get a new start with another team. I can't argue that Tony should have been traded, and that Cintron should replace him. Just all the name calling gets on my nerves. 10 to 1 Overbay is the next whipping boy.

    Wohack traded

According to Schulte and the talk on "diamondtalk" last night, the reason they traded him for little and still paid his contract was twofold, they didn't want to just "drop" someone who was vital in winning the world series, and because he was not considered a club cancer, they wanted to let the...

    Junior doing a Ruby immitation?

I like all these young guys, but they too will have their sophmore slumps as other teams get good scouting reports on their weaknesses. LA made poor Lyle look bad with off speed stuff over the weekend, and Hammock is starting to get a steady stream of breaking balls, same pitch Junior struggled...

    Looking at Miguel

If you go to a game where he is pitching, go over to the bullpen and watch him throw. It doesn't look like he's throwing that hard, or putting the effort into like Schill and Johnson (although they throw faster), but the ball flies fast, and the catcher's glove snaps. His changeup has got to...

    Does Kata make Spivey expendable?

As far as trades with Spivey, How about Junior and Overbay for Richie Sexson. He still strikes out 25% of the time, but he does have a lot of power with a right handed bat. Although, I don't know why the Brewers would do it, his salary is not that much in today's market ($5 million).

    Does Kata make Spivey expendable?

Anybody know if Kata or Hammock have the arm to play right field? Hammock has seemed to fill in the Greg Colbrunn role nicely, Hope he can keep it up. I don't envy Joe Jr. and Brenley for the decisions that have to be made soon! THis run has been great fun. I was just hoping they could finsh...

    Cintron

I think the power may be there, but I'd just assume he not change anything and keep his average about .320. We get a bunch of ball swatters going, and we will score just as many runs as the power clubs. As you know matrix, sometimes when kids start hitting for just power, they start losing...
