Agreed. Which is why I fully expect that.

What would you give for Kevin Love

The problem is that Love will basically get to control his destination, and reports are that he only wants to play for the Lakers or Knicks (big surprise, the two largest markets in the league). The Suns nor any other team won't trade for him unless he agrees to sign an extension. So even if...

OT: Mike D'Antoni steps down as Lakers head coach

Even 2005/06? The Suns starting lineup that year was Nash, Bell, Marion, Diaw and Kurt Thomas. The bench was Barbosa, James Jones and Eddie House. It's pretty remarkable what that lineup managed to accomplish. Of course that had a lot to do with Nash and his ability to make everyone around...

Suns among the least popular teams in the NBA

You also have to factor in international players and their level of popularity in their respective countries. Suns have Dragic who is probably googled a lot in Slovenia, but Slovenia is a small country.

Suns among the least popular teams in the NBA

If this is based on player name search alone as it suggests, then no one should really be surprised. The Suns simply don't have any marquee, recognizable names on roster to the casual fan.

Dragic Named 2013-14 NBA Most Improved Player

Just noticed that Gerald Green came in 4th in the voting with 16 first-place votes and 117 total points. Markieff Morris was 10th.

    2014 NBA Playoff thread

Three road wins on the first day of playoffs. Could get interesting. As per general rule, I'm simply rooting against Spurs and Heat.

    2014 Draft morphing

Same thing occurred to me yesterday. But no team has ever moved up from that far back in the lottery. A far more likely scenario is that the player the Suns really want keeps falling, only to be snatched up by the T-Wolves at 13. Btw, what was the probability that the T-Wolves would end up...

    NBA West Playoffs!

Well, the Suns only tied the modern-day record. Updated list above.

    Season Obits

It should be noted that the Suns are now on their longest playoff drought since 1971-75 and, obviously, its longest during the modern 16-team playoff format.

    Suns @ Mavericks 4-12-14, 5:30 PM

A valiant effort. The Suns were in position to win, like they were most games, but came up short again. As a consolation, they will move up in the draft by about 6 spots to 14.

    NBA West Playoffs!

Yeah, current head-to-head records are: Mavs: 4-1 (3-0 vs Grizz, 1-1 vs Suns) Grizz: 3-3 (0-3 vs Mavs, 3-0 vs Suns) Suns: 1-4 (1-1 vs Mavs, 0-3 vs Grizz) So even with an extra win against Dallas the Suns would still finish last, since each team would pick up one win and one loss if they...

    NBA West Playoffs!

I don't believe so. Assuming that both Phoenix and Memphis win their one lone remaining game against other competition (Suns vs. Kings and Grizz vs. Lakers), then if each of the three teams vying for playoffs spots wins one and loses one against each other, we will have a three-team tie at...

    NBA West Playoffs!

So the Suns blew another big lead and fell out of a playoff spot again. But, if they win the last three, they are guaranteed to make playoffs. They still control their own destiny. And it looks like you're going to have to win 50 to make playoffs in the West this year.

    NBA West Playoffs!

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One improbable thing at a time.

    NBA West Playoffs!

Teams with most regular season wins to not make playoffs, since 1984 when the 16-team playoff format was introduced: TEAM YEAR WINS golden state 07-08 48 phoenix 08-09 46 houston 00-01 45 minnesota 04-05 44 seattle 00-01 44 houston 02-03 43 utah 12-13 43 houston 10-11 43 Notice how...

    Suns @ Timberwolves 3-23-14

Heck of a comeback. Midway through I actually started thinking maybe missing playoffs will pay dividends in the long run with the improved draft slot and all. The Suns momentarily put that argument on hold.

    Resurrection (ABC)

I thought the French show was excellent, largely due to writing and character development. I doubt ABC's version even comes close. I started a thread a while ago for the French show: http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f37/les-revenants-the-returned-197640.html Season two will air this...

Suns sign power forward Shavlik Randolph

This isn't really a move that will have much effect on the team, but it is interesting that McDonough continues to pursue players that played in Boston. Couple former Suns players are also doing well in China: Hamed Haddadi (14.2 ppg, 13.3 rpg in 26 games) Sebastian Telfair (26.1 ppg, 6.0 apg...

    Granger?

There was so much hype around Fredette few years ago and now he's about to get waived. At the time, a lot of people questioned whether he even belongs in the NBA. It's certainly starting to look like he doesn't. Of course same was said about Marshall. I doubt the Suns will show any...

    Rockets @ Suns 2-23-14

Some questionable calls at the end notwithstanding, the Suns offense cooled off considerably in the 4th quarter. Dragic carried the team in the first half, then Green took over in the 3rd, but in the 4th both were relatively quiet and no one else stepped up, other than Markieff maybe, but it...

    Suns trade rumors

Unfortunately I think it would be more similar to the Michael Redd project in 11 (and countless others) than Hill, who was still averaging close to 15 ppg the season prior to joining Suns. Besides, all those players just go to Miami.

    Suns trade rumors

In fact, I think the Suns wouldn't even have to trade away any players because they are enough under the cap to absorb Hill's Salary. At least ESPN's Trade Machine seems to think so. And the Lakers were only asking the Nets for a second-round pick in return but were rejected.

    The Fall of Nash

I think there is a fine line between not wishing a player to be successful on another team and actually reveling in the fact that they are struggling through one injury after another as their career is abruptly coming to an end. Especially if that player didn't ask to leave but rather was...
