He'll be hitting mid-range jumpers by next season. It's a very high point of emphasis for him.

I know its Peter Vecsey, but...

There's no point in giving him max money, but I also don't understand the ambivalence towards Hayward. He's a really, really nice player who plays both ends of the court. I think he's more long than he is athletic, but he's not unathletic by any stretch.

    Pick 4

Picking for need will get a team in trouble in this draft. There are going to be a lot of busts, and this draft will probably be perceived as overrated in time, if only because most of the kids in the first round will never live up to the hype. But if you pick by BPA, I think you avoid most of...

    Pick 4

I expect at least two of those picks to be packaged in part of a deal for a current NBA player. Or players. No one is going to be able to trade up. Not going to happen this year. One slot will cost you dearly. If I had to pick players with those picks, right now, I'd go with: - Marcus Smart...

    The Walking Dead (AMC)

I don't know how they went from this: To this: I would have gone with someone more like Ray McKinnon. He can do "creepy nice" just fine, and he's from freakin' Georgia.

    The Walking Dead (AMC)

I feel this season has been about Rick reclaiming leadership, and it's been going very, very slowly. They made him very hesitant to pick up a gun and make decisions. Then, all of a sudden, he makes as big of a group decision as he could make. That seemed kind of jarring to me, and not in a...

    Guide for an Australian

    - If you're only going to see one game, pay for the courtside tickets. Seeing the actual size of those players at the speed they play at and the athletic things that they do, it will change your perspective on what the NBA is forever. I remember the first time I saw the Suns up close. It did not...

    The Bledsoe dilemma

EJ made the same connection. [But KJ had a mid-range jumper]. Bledsoe and Green play well together, IMO.

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

This is 50-win kind of thinking, IMO. Your point guard has to be able to hit from some kind of range against better defensive teams. Let me clarify: The man who's on the ball most has to be able to hit from some kind of range. If that's going to be Bledsoe, he has to stretch defenses or those...

Hornacek helps Archie with his jumper (Video)

I love that Horny is teaching him how to feel that technique, rather than giving him some point by point thing that makes him feel awkward.

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

He didn't improve his shot, though. He had better opportunities last year so he shot better. As a primary option, he's shooting back where he was before last year -- he's shooting the kind of shots he shot early in his career (i.e. early in the sets, top of arc). His best games this season so...

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

If his 3-point shooting were on an upward arc -- or just as good as last year's excellent 39.7 -- I'd be right there with you. It's not. It's just shy of awful. I'm saying, "Show me." Until then, I'm very, very skeptical. Until then, from what I've seen, if he's not at his ceiling right now...

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

Bledsoe is good around the basket. The further he gets away from the basket the more average he becomes. This isn't just my opinion. The numbers bear it out. It's also why Dragic is in a similar boat.

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

Oh, sure, he COULD improve, but it's highly unlikely. Bledsoe turns 24 in December. He's approaching middle age for a basketball player. He's always going to be 6-1, so he's not going to become a better on-ball defender, and players at that age almost never improve their shooting as much as he...

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

I'm saying I don't think Bledsoe ever gets the best of that matchup in a 7-game series, because he can't shoot. I don't think he can even play to a draw. He's among the Top 20 at his position, but that's where I think the line is drawn for him. I don't see him getting better.

Poll: Is Eric Bledsoe a #1 player on a championship team

I look at it like this: If a game comes down to Eric Bledsoe matching up against Tony Parker, Chris Paul or Russell Westbrook, am I confident in that matchup? I'm not even hopeful, really. Bledsoe's going to lost that one 3 out of 4 times at his current level of play (which is very good).

    2014 Free Agents

UGH. Slin, you're in love with Turner over a few games? He's shooting WAY above his career average so far -- almost a full .1 higher than his career average. That's with a pitiful 17 percent shooting from 3-point, which is scary bad for a SF. His 3 assists per game are pointless because he's...

Markieff Morris: The Better Twin for Once

Horny said he always imagined himself being a college coach. Well, he's coaching this team like a college team, including his suddenly deeper rotations. Players are responding. Guys seem to enjoy playing for him and with each other. Someone sing the alumni song before I get too weepy about...

    Looking at the future

I was about to balk until I looked up the numbers. Somehow, offensively, this isn't a horrible comparison. Last year, Harden had a TS% of 60 with an assist ratio 18.7. This year (so far), Bledsoe has a TS% of of 62 with an assist ratio of 26.7. Both would be career highs for EB. Harden was a...

    Hornacek looking great so far

The bar is very low right now. It's not the measure of a coach. I was one who loved this hire from the start, but I'm cautious to give a thumbs up on his performance for this year. Everything's fresh. Let's see how the team handles adversity -- especially Bledsoe.
