SI article on Josh Rosen and him being traded

Don't think a new thread is needed and this is academic at this point but I thought some might enjoy some Rosen analysis.

SI article on Josh Rosen and him being traded

Hard to give the front office much benefit of doubt in this whole situation when you consider the reports coming out. Also, when you consider that the Cardinals spent $33M on Bradford, Rosen and Glennon and none of them are even on the team now...can't say I have much faith in them until proven...

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

How many of them were transcendent?

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

Who said it was? But what if Miami offered a first before the draft but the Cardinals really thought they could get the Giants' #6 or both of their first round picks instead? Or something from the Raiders? I don't "know" but there are certainly a variety of possibilities.

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

All we know is that a trade wasn't made. No one knows what the Cardinals were offered for Rosen. It isn't likely but it is possible that they were offered a 1st round pick and declined. We have no way of knowing but there are those suggesting that they wanted a 1st and more so, who knows?

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

But that wasn't what you said. If you'd just said that you don't think Rosen's worth much and listed "your" reasons for thinking that, then we could just agree or disagree. But arguing that because no trade has been finalized as proof of other team's disinterest or their thoughts on Rosen's...

Maybe they made offers and the Cardinals declined? I don't know. Neither do you.

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

But I don't have a view on it. I'm saying none of us know. I am arguing against the idea that because a trade hasn't been made that it clearly indicates how 31 other teams value Rosen. That is an unsubstantiated leap in logic.

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

It's a cheap shot by a classless ex-player. It's downright disingenuous for him to even suggest that Rosen would have a chance to compete for the starting job.

Do you "know" how many teams inquired about him?

Wait, we're supposed to listening to Steve Smith's opinion about character?!?

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

There are plenty of other possibilities and none of us know what has actually been offered. For all we know, the Cards have turned down legitimate offers hoping instead for a big score. Considering their boom or bust draft pick, that philosophy isn't far fetched at all.

Why cant people see that Rosen has little value....to anyone

There's no way to say if it was the best possible approach. In retrospect, it's just as feasible to think that generating interest ahead of time and pushing to get a deal done before the draft would have possibly put fear into a team wanting to make a move. I don't believe there have been any...

Close to a deal (Rosen) with Miami

Yet, most people are chastising the Giants for over-drafting him so what are their actions really worth? Not to mention, they've drafted a QB 3 years in a row now and kept Eli way past his prime. Are the Giants really who we're going to use as a barometer for what Rosen's "worth" is?

The Selection of Kyler Murray Highlights the Dysfunction Within the Front Office

I've always thought he was relatively tall. He never seems to be dwarfed by the guys coming up on stage.

The Selection of Kyler Murray Highlights the Dysfunction Within the Front Office

I feel bad for Cards fans. Regardless of which side of the argument you fall on, having the #1 pick in this particular draft wasn't the greatest spot to be in. Controversial QB's at best and no true blue chip, slam dunk, generational guys at other positions to choose from. Some will turn out...

Why cant people see that Rosen has little value....to anyone

It isn't ridiculous but it also isn't likely. Donald is that good. But, Rosen/Quinnen is going to get a lot closer to their combined value than Murray alone.

2019 1st round pick is QB Kyler Murray

And it's irrelevant. "No other way" is what's bold.

2019 1st round pick is QB Kyler Murray

    Pretty bold statement.

2019 1st round pick is QB Kyler Murray

I think it's important to differentiate between drafting QB's at any spot and drafting back to back top 10 QB's. It seems hard to imagine giving up on a guy that you JUST considered worth moving up into the top 10 to get. If you're that unsure about that guy then I don't know how you have any...

    Who trades for Rosen?

Why do you keep saying that I think they should have gotten a 1st for him? I said I think they must have been asking too much for him since he didn't get traded. Stands to reason that since the trade didn't happen, the Cardinals were asking too much. Leading up to the draft, there was talk of...

Draft Grade for Cardinals #1 pick

Looking at the major sites it looks like the various pundits give the Cardinals a B...B- grade for the Murray pick. Saw as high as an A- and as low as a C- but most were in the B/B- range. Not that draft grades from writers mean a whole lot but the Cardinals' pick seems to be of the solid but...

    Who trades for Rosen?

There's no way to know what they would have got but it doesn't mean we have to wait to know that they handled it poorly. We already know they painted themselves into a corner and we already know that they wasted picks to move up for a player they gave up on after less than a season. After...

Steve Keim is NOT the worst GM in the league...

Ouch, that's pretty bad. I mean, I liked Lauletta as a prospect but all of those resources spent on more support for Eli and a FA QB would have been a better way to go.
