With the completion of Sunday's regular-season finale, Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green has now played in all 82 games (all starts) in consecutive NBA seasons.

Dating back to February 2023, the 23-year-old has now started 186 consecutive games, representing the third-longest active streak in the NBA.

On Sunday, head coach Ime Udoka was asked about Green's ongoing streak and its implications for the team, and he offered considerable praise. Among Udoka's comments:

Huge accomplishment. Especially nowadays, when guys will sit out for pretty much anything. I think the fact that he wants to play in every game and play through everything, it does rub off on everybody. Especially for a young guy.

It's another feather in his cap.

Today is Jalen Green’s 186th consecutive game (third-longest streak in NBA), and his second straight year to start all 82. I asked Ime Udoka about it:

When the streak began late in the 2022-23 season, the Rockets were the worst team in the Western Conference. But today, the Rockets (52-30) are No. 2 in the standings and the West's second seed entering the 2025 NBA playoffs. Since Udoka took over as head coach in April 2023, Green has yet to miss a game.

Green is the leading scorer for the Rockets over that time (he averaged 21.0 points per game this season), and he's clearly playing a large role in Houston's success — both directly through his on-court contributions as well as the intangible benefits of his consistent availability.

Green and the Rockets will begin their first-round playoff series on Sunday, April 20, with a home matchup versus Golden State or Memphis (the Warriors and Grizzlies will meet in a play-in tournament game Tuesday to determine the West's No. 7 seed). The tipoff time of Game 1, which will be the first postseason game of Green's four-year NBA career, is still to be determined.
