A quote from Steve Keim this morning in his interview with Doug and Wolf regarding what this organization must do in the wake of last night’s beatdown.

He would not speculate on Mike McCoy but said everyone is being evaluated.

Also said he hasn’t felt like this since Arizona got destroyed by Seattle 58-0 (which led to Whiz being let go)

It will be interesting to see if players are benched/cut, acquisitions are made to the roster or if coaches are fired when it comes to his statement about “coming out swinging like hell”.

He basically said in his own words “people” will lose their jobs today.

Good let the heads roll

I would hope like hell that would happen. This is the worst coached Cardinals team ever. No Cardinals team has ever started 1 & 6 in the history of the organization. Hell, Keim's job needs to be called into question.

Would love to see both McCoy AND Holcomb gone if they don't fire Wilks. I feel Wilks will be gone at years end anyways, if not sooner, so at least get a couple interim coordinators in place, give Wilks a chance for a few games, and see what happens.

Keim was asked about Winks defense in comparison to Bowles and Betcher with essentially the same players and Kemi said the coaches need to put the players into positions to succeed. They asked about his choice of Wilks and said he's confident in his choice but there needs to be long hard conversations.

Oh goody, conversations! That'll fix this I'm sure of it.

When to admit you've made a mistake? I know all too well that I don't have the temperament or patience to be a GM/HC as I'd be firing people all the time but this situation seems too obvious. I mean, as a GM if you don't fire your mistake and start making changes you're hurting your own job now. I don't know how much perception and credibility are worth to an organization but IMO, if Keim came out and said why he thought Wilks and Co. were right for the job and that he believed in their potential at the time but it was now obvious that it isn't going to work out and they have to move forward...wouldn't that be a bright silver lining to the situation and a positive moving forward?

If he stammers and delays and is indecisive about what comes next I think it just hurts the team.

My fave comment from Keim when asked what his thoughts were on the timeout burned after the 1st play of game “the same thing you were” :hairraise
And he said it very angrily.

Lol Huge changes are coming!

I think Keim was probably misquoted..
He most likely said "Swigging like hell"

He is anticipating being fired, and was going to be properly drunk for the event.
So when I saw this thread title I immediately pictured a drunk, staggering Keim saying this with a slurred voice. "Were gonna come out...swinging like hell. Were gonna show that Von Miller he...what, the game's over? We lost? Where am I?"

Sounds like something a drunkard would say when backed in a corner.

You have to listen to the entire interview.

https://www.azcardinals.com/news/steve-keim-i-m-coming-out-swinging-like-hell

"When you are in this situation, it's lonely," Keim said Friday morning on the "Doug and Wolf" show on 98.7, Arizona's Sports Station. "At the same time you find out a lot about yourself, you find out a lot about your organization. You have two choices. You can curl up in a ball and hope it goes away -- which it's not -- or you come out swinging and fight.

"As far as I'm concerned, I'm coming out swinging like hell."

In a vacuum I agree with you. But he’s committed how many years/dollars of his employer’s to this mess? He NEEDS this to work. At least at Wilks level. Or he’s kaput (which he should be anyway).
