In this hurry-up-what's-next-society were in, it's very easy to just blow past satisfying moments with-out savoring their sweetness. Of not fully appreciating the joy of winning. Oh, it was just the Rams...and we struggled to win...and D.A. struggled ....and Fitz' is hurting...And TH is a fumble-machine now...And Keith is gonna' get our QB killed...And on...And on....

Ok! I get it. There's a whole bunch of concerns to point to, worry about, and dwell on. But, I betcha' that 1-0 record popped up in your thoughts several times this week already. And I'll also bet that 1-0 feels a whole better than 0-1. I know if we were 0-1, I would've been growling more at everyone. Kicking the goldfish! ( I don't have a dog) And in general, been pretty whiney and no fun to be around. 1-0 makes me smile And I like smiling much better.

Now, you can say, what a bunch of drivel. BUT, there's a reason they coined the phrase "STOP! and take time to smell the roses." Seems those people that do enjoy their lives awhole lot more. They tend to live longer, too. And their goldfish (ie:pets) feel safer around them. So, here's to enjoying this season. The ups and the downs...but, hopefully, more ups.:) GO CARDS! :D

There are few games that "end" on the highs of consecutive game-clinching interceptions. That was pretty neat.

Beat Atlanta in the same fashion and you won't hear anywhere near the complaints. In fact most of us would be ecstatic.

Exactly. Hell, beat the Rams like we did in week 13 after the Cardinals have already what kind of team they are and I don't think there'd be as much hand-wringing. But the fact is we squeaked by a bad team and there's a lot that's up in the air about this team.

I am less worried because alot of "bad" teams punched their opponents in the mouth this weekend. At least we pulled out a win. Week One is the week of the underdog. The weight of the season hasn't beaten them down yet.

If it is then why did the Cards lose something like 17 out of 23 week one games since moving to the AZ?

Well I guess you could say that back in the day we were the Under Underdog.

Went from 1991 to 2006 winning only one season opener.

I will lift a glass to that. Its a sign of how far we have come that we are a little bit miffed at a road win!!

Look, we all know what there is to worry about but right now lets enjoy 1-0

Look back at our 2008 Super Bowl year. We started out slow by beating a below average San Fran team with O'Sullivan Quarterbacking. They went 5-11 the year before. Warner had 197 yards passing and we didn't even gain 300 yards of total offense.

We then came out the next week and whipped Miami.

We always start out slow.

Atlanta isn't a team to me that is all that great. We seem to handle good RB's. Matty Ice isn't as good as some may think in my opinion. I think this game is very, very winnable.

That they do. Have for 20 years. However since the arrival of CKW the Cards have won 3 of their first 5 in 2007 and 7 of their first 10 in both 2008 and 2009.

1-0 feels pretty darn good. We got Oakland for our home opener, and I don't count out the Cards in ATL. If DA gets hot, (there is an if there:D) and our boys D up like last week, we have a great shot for the upset. 1-0 feels really darn good.

I agree, I think some people too quickly forget the days when the Cards started 0-3 in what seemed like EVERY DANG YEAR and the season was over that fast. We would be talking draft picks in October on a regular basis. :(

A brief history of starting slow Cardinal style.

92 0-3
93 0-1
94 0-3
95 0-2
96 0-3
97 0-1
98 0-2
99 1-0 (Followed by 3 straight losses)
00 0-1
01 0-2
02 0-1
03 0-2
04 0-3
05 0-3
06 1-0 (Followed by 8 straight losses)
07 0-1
08 1-0
09 0-1

1-0 is just fine by me.

Starting on the road at a divisional foe's house will do that to you, especially when you do it year afer year, after year. It's even worse when you play the first TWO on the road like this year.

How many road teams won last week, 4? How many home games have AZ hosted to begin a season??? Hint: Less than 4.

We beat the Rams, I don't plan on throwing any celebrations for that. It's a team we're supposed to cream.

I'm glad we won, mostly because I can imagine the feeding frenzy the media would have had if the Rams had won. I honestly think the national pundits were a bit disappointed we prevailed.

So then you both agree that week one is NOT the week of the underdog. But the home team's week regardless of who is favored.

Of all the *good* teams that lost *bad* teams last weekend, I'm sure most would have picked us to lose before them. We are starting out with 2 on the road and already have the split. Take a breath, regroup, and play a better game this Sunday.
