San Diego won today!!! the only team with a worst record then AZ is Atlanta, lets hope for a win tonight.

Atl 2-9
AZ 3-10
SD 3-10
Oak 3-10

Cards have Carolina, Seattle and Minnesota next, I expect 3 more losses.

#1 overall pick all the way!!!!

Holy crap, if we gave up 50 to San Francisco how many are we going to give up to Seattle and Minnesota?

Unfortunatly due to win/loss % of the teams we and the other teams have played as of right now we are picking 4th:

Atlanta 2-9 (.546) (Carolina 8-4, @Indianapolis 10-3, @Tampa Bay 6-7, Jacksonville 4-9)
San Diego 3-10 (.502) (Green Bay 7-6, @Pittsburgh 5-8, Oakland 3-10)
Oakland 3-10 (.512) (Baltimore 8-5, Green Bay 7-6, @San Diego 3-10)
Arizona 3-10 (.539) (Carolina 8-4, @Seattle 8-5, Minnesota 8-5)

Now obviously either Oakland or San Diego has to win (we can hope for a tie but lets be realistic here shall we), so that means really we are picking 3rd right now. If Atlanta wins a game due to thier opponant winning percentage we would move to #2. As long as we dont win another game the worst tho would be pick #3, with the possibility of going to #1 if the 3 teams above us each win 1 more game (yeah right), Figure we will end up picking #2 or #3.

If Atlanta has the first pick I don't think we have to worry about them picking a QB.

That being said, if Vick is back they should be good for a win in the last 3 weeks, maybe 2.

That scenario is just fine. We are guaranteed to get eithee Eli or Roth..........

They already have the salary of a #1 pick on their books (Vick) they will look to trade out of the spot to someone who wants a QB. For Arizona to have a shot at the player they want they need the #1 pick

Of course history has shown that the "no brainer" pick for the Cardinals proves difficult for them

So we need to root for San Diego, Oakland and hope Car, Min, and Sea lose some games to lower our schedule strength!

I'm thinking Atlanta wins at least 1 more (4 wins) SD wins 1 more (4 wins) but Oakland stays at 3 wins. And, of course, the Cards won't win another. So who gets #1 between Oakland and AZ.???

Hopefully Oakland will beat San Diego and the Chargers maybe the steelers. Both of those teams want Manning IMHO so if we wind up #2 we won't get him.

Okay, how about this. San Diego beats Pittsburgh. Oakland beats San Diego. Atlanta beats Jacksonville. Would that give us the number 1 or Atlanta?

My concern with Atlanta getting the first pick and us getting the second is that some team will try to trade for the first pick in order to take Eli. I think the only way we get Manning is to get the first pick.

Yes becuase Atlanta now has 3 wins and would then have 4.

O.K., so we have the #2 pick and ???? has #1. What would it take to move up 1 spot to ensure we get Manning???? Can't be much, can it? How about our #1 and Gilmore for the #1 overall? :D

oakland is ahead of us - as is san diego - but they play each other and we will be 2nd (assuming we lose rest of our games). Both teams have played a weaker schedule than the cardinals..which is a shock because the raiders went to the super bowl last year and we finished last in our division - you would think we would have an easier schedule than the raiders - but due to the turnaround of minnesota, dallas, carolina, seattle and st. louis - we ended up with a harder schedule than the raiders - so therefore if we end with the same record - the team with the easiest schedule picks first..which would be the raiders.

the raiders need to win 1 of their last 3 in order for us to pick in front of them...the play baltimore and green bay at home and san diego on the road....san diego also has to win 1 of their last 3 - and the play green bay, pittsburgh and the raiders. we pick in front of the falcons because they have a tougher schedule than we do..

I think if SD gets the #1 we are okay. I think the new coach would want that pick.

all this fussin' is for naught. something will happen to keep manning from us. i know it. you know it. everyone knows it. either the raiders will lose out and take him, the chargers will lose out and take him, we'll win a silly game, or he'll retire right after we draft him.

So if we're stuck at #2 what's wrong with taking Rothlisberger? I've heard it said that he is better than Manning and that Eli's getting most of the hype because of his last name.

my only fear about rothaliso;gnasodinfer is that he's the "specimen" and not the "player." take away leaf's attitude and he still didn't pan out into an nfl caliber player. many said that he had all the tools while peyton had the mental acuity for the game. i am frightened that the same may be the case in the eli-rothadcka;cnaosidnfer comparison.

Personally, I hope that Manning IS gone when we pick. I'd prefer Ben. R.

Problem there is Ben is a junior, after yesterday he may decide to stay in school if we get the 2nd pick.

in that case I'd want Manning. But, from a monetary standpoint, this seems like a good year for him to come out. There are a handful of teams with great need for a young QB, and they might all fill that need this year. Seems dicier next year for him to be a top-5 guy. (gut feeling, I haven't actually counted teams in need of a QB, but many of the bad teams have young, promising guys).

I think that would be the deal if we wanted to move down to the 4 or 5 range.
