Smallville is the worst Superhero show ever? Huh? Sure, it probably lasted longer than it should, but it's certainly better than most of the shows after it on that list.

I guess that leaves The Incredible Hulk and Misfits of Science as the best superhero shows ever, since that's all that's left... :D

I imagine Smallville being heresy to loner comic book geeks, but to me it's just good TV. All myths are allowed to be reshaped and retold by each generation. Otherwise they would lose their relevance. We don't need patriotic Superman. In this day and age, it's more fascinating to know Superman is also human and can still be a hero.

Yes and no, IMO. I think Superman still needs to be a boy scout. He still needs to have ideals that may or may not be realistic for the world he lives in. I think it's interesting to have him struggle with the reality of those ideals, but I still think he needs to have them and even if others around him can't meet them--he needs to. That's why he's the icon that he is.

BTW, I just read the link....and, yeah, I think they're WAY off base. Being a card-carrying member of the "comics community," I love Smallville, and so do all of the other geeks I know. Yes, they're changing things about the mythology for the show (and some of it has been retconned into the comic book mythology, too), but they do it pretty respectfully (not to mention well).

Boo, I say. Boo.

Charles in Charge. He may not have been super, but he was super cool.

I have never watched it, but Smallville just screams "One Tree Hill" to me. :)

Teenbop actors. :)

You do know that both shows have actors that are a lot older than what they play on television, right? At least, in the case of One Tree they do.

As for Smallville, how you can't like Erica Durance is beyond me. I'd watch just for her.

Erica Durance's pinched/botched nose job bugs the hell out of me. ...rock'n bod, though.

She has a nose? Maybe it's because I watch the show while seated but I've never noticed anything that high up.
