Tbh I asked this in another thread, but I’m still trying to figure out why Bidwill let Keim let Wilks hire a OC that literally got fired in a middle of season just last year.

To be honest, what is he supposed to say 2 games in? That he screwed up on his choice for OC? His QB? He's got to give the party line.

YES he is supposed to say that ... and then maybe we'd give him a chance... since he didn't say that, screw him... totally ... fire every coach, fire Keim ... what we can lose (except money) ?... hire ANYONE else and they will do a better job than what we watched ... anybody. you, me the guy looking for donations outside Taco Bell.... ANYBODY ... this is WAY crazier than BA saying Amos Jones was NOT the problem.... way crazier... we are now in an asylum waiting for the SWAT team to storm the place because the inmates have obviously taken over...

When does a mistake become obvious?

I really don't care if they fire him or not because firing him won't undo the damage done at this point.

All firing him would do is probably result in another failed hire anyway.

Put it this way, if they fire him, and presumeably the entire staff, eating all those contracts, plus probably the GM then they would have NO MONEY or at least in my opinion it's hard to see how they could possibly afford all that AND hire anyone AND have that anyone be a signifigant ENOUGH improvement.

At this point, honestly, I'd just play for draft picks, maybe hire an outside consultant that would eventually become our GM to have them draft for us and let the current crews enjoy the fruits of their labors.

Some may think this is an overreaction. Wilks is a first year head coach. He is just making normal mistakes.

He is a first year head coach, but he isn't making normal mistakes.

Here are my issues with Wilks, and why today cemented my opinion that he is incompetent.

1-"We've got to utilize David from the standpoint of getting him out of the backfield, putting him in the slot, putting him out there to try and create that matchup that we need."

Are you kidding me? What were you doing the entire offseason in planning your offense? If you came into to your first head coaching gig, and you don't know how you are going to use your best offensive playmaker, you aren't prepared. If this wasn't the first question you asked your potential offensive coordinators when you getting staff together, you are either inept or you didn't have more than one option. This quote is the apex of stupidity.

2-"I have total confidence in Mike, total confidence in all the staff."

Really, you have total confident in the clown that you have to tell to use your best offensive weapon in more creative ways and to create mismatches. This goes to show Steve Wilks is full of ****.

3-Haason Reddick and Deone Bucannon get benched in week 2.

Part of the job of becoming a coach is evaluating game film and the roster PRIOR to taking the job and free agency. You need to understand where you need to improve the roster so you can execute YOUR SYSTEM. Wilks obviously didn't do this and instead waited until training camp and the season began to evaluate his roster.

4-He is shocked that the team is not executing his game plan when he didn't utilize the preseason games to give his starters reps in executing his system.

I'm out on him, and every week his ridiculous quotes just widdle away what credibility he has left. He is going to lose the locker room as the professional leaders we have on this team can spot ********, and will only tolerate it for so long. I hope that we won't have to suffer through two years of this, but it isn't in Bidwill's nature to fire a guy after one year. Settle in, our franchise is in the toilet for the next three years at the least.

You've been a football fan long enough to know your gonna get nothing but coach speak from these guys.

He's an NFL coach he's not going to come out and throw guys under the bus in front of the media and if he did that's not the kind of coach I want.

I've seen guys bitch about almost every coach we've had in recent memory.

Good lord remember when Horton was let go and Bowles took over and his defense struggled for half a season.

I’m 100% positive this franchise will continue to spiral into the toilet as long as Steve Keim is the GM.

I am guessing that the staff and management are getting chewed out behind closed doors
I hope so, but I don’t think the threat of firing will scare anyone. These incompetents are already guaranteed millionaires.

How would the others owners view the organization for firing the staff after 2 games?

I still don’t get how Wilks was hired as a HC being so inept.

So that’s it? No changes? Nothing happening? Bidwill is just going to stick with the crew?

The fans should stop attending games unless something is improved.

No diehard fan should see their favorite team blown out every game. 0-16 is very possible. The 0-16 lions and browns came close to winning a few games, we’re getting blown out every game we’ve played so far. We’ve scored 6 points total, our kicker hasn’t had the chance to attempt a FG or a PAT.

I'm pretty certain that Wilks will be a failure, I'm 99% McCoy stinks, and I'm 100% sure that Bradford can't take a team anywhere, but those quotes don't really change my perception, it's coachspeak early in a season. Despite those quotes I think we'd all expect that if we're down 17-0 at the half of the next game a changes will come before the 2nd half starts.

Yep I'm ready to move on. Unfortunately I don't think Michael is going to eat Wilks salary.
I bet he does.

Yeah, I'd agree.

I'm not sure what the lost revenue projection of the fans giving up on the team would add out to, but I suspect Michael Bidwill has seen those returns when comparing the 2011 and 2012 Cards compared to the 2013-15 Cards.

I'm guessing it's a helluva lot more than what Kiem and Wilks make combined.

But we'll have to be crazy terrible, like, only watching for comedy bad. Basically... exactly where we are right now. I have to admit, once I started trying to guess where Bradford was going to throw the ball (by looking for the shortest route) the game got fun.

I just get this gut feeling that Wilks and staff pretty much have no clue how to dig out of this mess they put themselves into. Right now they have dug a hole and it appears their strategy is to keep digging. Week 2 was worse than week 1. How bad is week 3 going to get? They still haven't figured out how to use Johnson and linebacker is a merry go round. I guess Taylor would look good when he's going up against Williams in practice. Right now this team is a cluster f**k.

Fire a coach after two games? Lol! Totally legit move, and what big-time organizations do.

This board is pure comedy man. I can't stop laughing.

We're lucky we're not all locked in like a big conference room or something, because it would only be about 15 minutes before a free-for-all broke out. Lol...

There’s been plenty of 1 & done coaches. Hell, the Niners did it twice not too long ago.

Being realistic, it’s not really out of the realm of possibility to see Bidwill relieve Wilks of his duties after the season.

I'm a season ticket holder and not looking forward to going to the Bears game this Sunday especially with Bradford starting. We will start seeing more of the opponents fans at the games. Bradford will suck and the boo birds will be out. I can handle losing if the team is exciting as it was under Arians but not this crap.

People didn't notice but Reddick was actually benched before the first game, that's why he got so few snaps.

It is alarming how badly coached we look. I know Wilks is a 4-3 guy but right now this looks like a case of a guy taking apart a pretty decent defense to change it and making it dramatically worse in the process.

And as you said that he just now is realizing Deonne can't play LB in a 4-3 is alarming, at his size and history that should have been obvious, he either needs to play SS(and I am not convinced he can) or be in that hybrid LB role we played him in before, in a 3-4.

We're certainly headed that way. I certainly don't think you can fire him now, or even soon, but I've been watching the Cards play since 1974 and it's been a LONG time since we've looked this bad. We're not loaded, but we are certainly more talented than we're showing in games, we are just terribly coached.

As for changes...at the most basic level, I can't understand why even the bottom 5 haven't been rotated on/off the roster. Under BA, it seemed like players came and went every week of the season...he never stood pat, even after wins.
