That is the combined record of the 3 teams the Cardinals have lost to this season.

Ravens 4-2
Panthers 4-2
Seahawks 5-1

Even the tie was against the Lions who are now 2-2-1

Even though this team is a work in progress and hasn't beaten a good team yet, you have to feel encouraged that their losses so far have come against very good football teams and they were competitive against each of these opponents.

Someone created a thread previously this month reminding us how during B.A.'s first year the team started very slowly through the first 8 games before finishing 10-6. I thought the thread was a bit ludicrous when it was written as he was suggesting this team might drastically improve, but man they have really come alive on offense the last two games (956 total yards with no turnovers). Maybe just maybe this team can surpass all expectations in year 1.

Sure, this thread isn't crazy, but keep in mind that our wins came from essentially tied games against really bad teams.

"Very competitive" is a misnomer for how these games turned out, too. Our improved offense is a bright spot, but it was never close against the Seahawks, we absolutely crumbled against the backup-led Panthers, we didn't have a chance to lead against the Ravens, and 3 quarters of the Lions game were as bad of football as we've seen.

1. Lions - Seems clear to me that was product of not testing our offense out during preseason.
2. Ravens - We had two chances to take the lead in the 4th. Were a 3rd and 11/perfect throw from getting a 3rd chance at it.
3. Panthers -correct. We crumbled
4. Seahawks - Beat us convincingly
(Should be noted those are the two hottest teams in the NFC outside of the Saints/49ers.)
5. Bengals - We were up 2 touchdowns and probably should have been up by more if not for the redzone/clock issues
6. Falcons - We were up 3 scores and then we let up.

All of this taking place without our best player on the field.

Should be noted that MVP candidate Russell Wilson's Seahawks beat the Bengals by 1 and the Big Benless Steelers by 2.

Giants game will give us more information and the Saints will be a great test to how we play against good teams.

But you said the Falcons weren’t bad though.

The only game that could be argued wasn’t “competitive” was the Seahawks game. This was the game where Zane Gonzalez missed multiple field goals and the fact that our D only surrendered 20 points actually was a moral victory.

Wins are good but remember the wins came versus the 0-6 Bengals and 1-5 Falcons.Playing some good teams really tough will be a good sign of consistent improvement.Maybe sneak in a upset.
