McCABE'S PICKS: Michigan high school girls basketball semifinals: Here's all four finals matchups
All four state championships will be played on Saturday.
Here are some players to watch across all four divisions this weekend at Breslin Center.
The senior will try to add another state championship in what has been a busy week, including winning the 2025 Miss Basketball award Monday. She averages 22 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 4.5 steals and is looking for a second state championship to close out her high school career.
The Drexel commit has helped Wayne Memorial get back to Breslin after missing the semifinals last year. She averages 18.4 points, 8.1 assists, 6.2 rebounds and is a four-year starter.
The sophomore star is coming off a 29-point performance in the quarterfinals and is looking to add a state championship trophy to her Gatorade girls high school basketball player of the year honors. Savoury averages 27 points and seven rebounds as a dominant scorer off the dribble.
The junior point guard is trying to lead the Lakers to back-to-back championships (and a third in four years). Beal is a three-level scorer who can finish with both hands and light it up from deep.
The senior guard is hoping to lead the Eagles to the second state final of her career, and first championship win. Conzelmann, committed to Lake Superior State, is a double-digit scorer who is shooting 40% on 3s this year.
Zajac, a Miss Basketball finalist, has been a catalyst for a well-balanced Tecumseh squad coached by her mom, Kristy. The Eastern Michigan commit averages 14 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals. Tecumseh also features her sophomore sister, Addi, and Saginaw Valley State commit Makayla Schlorf.
The four-year starter, who has committed to Toledo, has helped Grand Rapids West Catholic reach a third straight semifinals. Dykstra averages 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.
Johnson Musah led Detroit Edison to a state championship in 2024 and is looking to end her career as a two-time champion. The Cal commit and Miss Basketball finalist averages 16.2 points, 7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 4.1 steals.
The senior guard has been one of the biggest reasons in Calumet's turnaround from 11-12 last season to reaching Breslin this year. Kiilunen, an all-conference and first-team all-defense player, leads her team with 14 points per game.
The junior leads a well-balanced offense with just over 10 points per game. She is the lone new starter on Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest, who reached the semifinals last year, and also features do-it-all junior Paige Macavage and senior Bella Tuskowski.
The junior wing has been a walking double-double threat in her first year starting after contributing to 2024's state championship off the bench. Senior point guard Eliza Bush is also a threat as a pass-first floor general with the ability to shoot.
The senior leads Niles Brandywine in scoring with 12.5 points per game and will have to be a key factor if the Bobcats want to avenge last year's state championship loss against Arbor Prep. Gill is a dangerous shooter who can get into the lane and finish with her right hand.
The junior forward averages a double-double this season for Ewen-Trout Creek, whose only loss is to Negaunee. McGeshick averages 16.5 points and 10 rebounds per game and forms a nice pairing with freshman guard Bree Besonen.
The senior forward anchors an aggressive Concord defense that thrives on forcing turnovers. Thorrez is also a consistent presence inside on offense, averaging just over 14 points per game working out of the post.
Fowler is in the semifinals for the sixth straight season after cruising through the playoffs winning every game by at least 20 points. Spicer has been one of the key players, averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 assists per game as a dangerous threat as a shooter and driver.
The senior guard signed to play at Spring Arbor has led the Soldiers by stuffing the stat sheet every night. Chapman averages over 20 points per game plus 8.9 rebounds, 4.2 steals, 3.8 assists and one block per game.
