The high school basketball season has come to an end in the Lone Star State, with the state championships wrapping up a few weeks ago in San Antonio.
Multiple teams from the Texas Panhandle had strong campaigns this year, with boys and girls squads from the area reaching the Alamodome to compete for a state title. On the girls side, Nazareth defeated Saltillo in the Class 1A Division II final to win the program's 26th state championship.
Farwell also reached the state title game before falling to Martin's Mill in the Class 2A Division II championship.
On the boys side, only Valley made the trek to San Antonio, falling to Perrin-Whitt in the Class 1A Division I title game. Still, the Patriots reached the UIL final for the first time in school history.
With the season finished, end of year awards have started to roll out. The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches has already voted on its All-Region, and All-State teams following the 2024-25 campaign, with a number of boys and girls basketball players from the Texas Panhandle making the cut.
All-Region honors were revealed by the TABC around a week ago, with 59 athletes from the region earning a spot on the list. 17 of the Amarillo-area's All-Region representatives also earned All-State honors.
