Good work. Pretty much agree except I'm not that high on Baker as the number one pick in the draft. I think they should have taken Darnold. But . Time will tell for sure.

Agreed, but I rate him A+ because of his marketing potential for Browns who are in desperate need.

I don't get into the nitty gritty of draft prospects, but wasn't there talk here about drafting Ragnow at #15 for the Cards? Lord knows the team hasn't had a center in like a decade, prolly longer. I can't even remember anyone other than Sendlein. My brother is a Lions fan and he's pretty happy with the pick.

Same thing happened with Johnny Football and that didn't last long.

I don't rate picks this early after the draft. But I really like the cost of the Cards trade up over the Bills cost to move up. It seems we paid a much lower cost.

Props to the Browns for owning their small quarterback fetish instead of denying it.
But then they crapped the bed passing on Chubb. I think they're going to live to regret that. Ward is good but Chubb on the same line as Miles Garrett would have instantly made them the best defensive line in football. With a line like that you just need above average D-backs.

Raiders send: Picks No. 10
Cardinals send: Picks No. 15, 79, 152
Johnson chart: $0.98
Stuart chart: $1.35

Cardinals' GM Steve Keim missed out on Patrick Mahomes when the Chiefs traded up last year, so it's no surprise that he made a move of his own this year. He also got himself a great deal in the process, given that he actually turned a profit on the Johnson chart and paid less than either the Bills or Ravens did on the dollar by the Stuart model. It's surprising that the Raiders weren't able to scare the Cardinals into giving up the 46th pick with the threat of the Dolphins lurking at 11. Alternately, 15 and the Cardinals' two third-round picks at 79 and 97 would have been a reasonable ask, given that it would have cost $1.04 on the dollar by the Johnson model.

I saw that earlier, thanks for posting it here.

Keim looks like an absolute genius right now considering what everyone else gave to move up.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...draft-debrief-winners-and-losers-from-round-1

The Arizona Cardinals: General manager Steve Keim has admitted that he coveted Patrick Mahomes a year ago, only to be caught flat-footed when the Chiefs traded ahead of the Cards to make Mahomes their quarterback of the future. Arizona made sure that didn't happen this time around, moving up five spots to No. 10 to draft Josh Rosen.

There was a crazy disconnect among draft analysts about Rosen. So many of them called him the best pure passer in the draft, yet few of them ranked him as the best quarterback. His timing, anticipation and ability to make plays under duress translates so well to the NFL level. Rosen is perhaps the most pro-ready quarterback in the class, though he won't be under pressure to play right away with Sam Bradford in town. (Backup Mike Glennon, incidentally, saw a quarterback get drafted to take his job for a second straight year.) Rosen says he knows his place.

"I'm not going to come in and be an a------ and think that my s--- don't stink," Rosen told reporters Thursday. "I understand the situation. I'm going to come in and I'm going to be respectful."

Keim and all Cardinals fans have to be thrilled. They wound up with my favorite quarterback in this class, and it didn't cost much to get him.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the ridiculous pick the Hags made. Rashaad Penny in the first round. What the hell were they thinking? He would have been there in round three. With all the holes they have they picked Penny?

I cheered almost as loud for this pick as I did for us moving up for Rosen!

Browns screwed the pooch at #4. They should have taken Chubb. Now he goes to Denver, with that Defense? Scary. That pushed QB out of the Broncos mind and when the Niners stole the OT that the Raiders wanted, Oakland panicked and the Cards were there to pounce. A lot of dominoes had to fall correctly for AZ to get that A+++ grade, but they never have to apologize for it.

That was a fun night!

I never thought Denver was going to be in the market for a QB after what they just paid Keenum but Chubb being there was unexpected. The second round is going to be interesting though for sure...but like Stout last night I am off to see Infinity War so will have to wait until I get home to see what we did.

I did in my write up.

27. Seattle Seahawks - Rashaad Penny RB. D WTH? 3rd rounder at best.

You know what helps marketing? Winning.

It will still be a few years before they can compete .... maybe. In the meantime Mayfield will create interest for the fan base.

most of the Ragnow talk was second or third round as he was rated the second best center by most and just topped Mayocks board a few days ago.
I jumped on him as my favorite center a few months back and at the time he was expected to be an early fourth round pick
