Based on what I have seen, I think these players would have a decent chance at being available at #29

Top 5 for pick #29:

1 - Kevin Dodd, DE/OLB
2 - Darron Lee, ILB
3 - Paxton Lynch, QB
4 - Emmanuel Ogbah, DE/OLB
5 - Eli Apple, CB

Any of those I think would be on the Cardinals radar.

Now I will compare that to said W-Football List:

Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson (COM)
Morgan Burns, CB, Kansas State (PRO)
Kevin Byard, S, Middle Tennessee (PRI)
De'Vondre Campbell, OLB, Minnesota (PRI)
Fahn Cooper, OT, Ole Miss (EW)
Sean Davis, FS/CB, Maryland (STM)
Clay DeBord, OT, Eastern Washington (PRO)
Jeff Driskel, QB, Louisiana Tech (WOR)
Adam Gotsis, DT, Georgia Tech (PRI)
T.J. Green, S, Clemson (PRI)
Germain Ifedi, OT, Texas A&M (WOR)
Cardale Jones, QB, Ohio State (PRI)
Darius Latham, DT, Indiana (PRI)
Shaq Lawson, DE/3-4OLB, Clemson (COM)
Richard Leonard, CB, Florida International (WOR)
Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis (COM)
Aaron Neary, G, Eastern Washington (PRO)
Dadi Lhomme Nicolas, OLB, Virginia Tech (PRI)
Robert Nkemdiche, DT/DE/3-4DE, Ole Miss (PRI)
Victor Ochi, OLB, Stony Brook (PRI)
Emmanuel Ogbah^, DE/3-4DE, Oklahoma State (WOR, PRO)
Dak Prescott^, QB, Mississippi State (WOR, PRI)
Eric Rawls, CB, Kentucky State (PRO)
Luke Rhodes, ILB, William & Mary (PRO)
Elandon Roberts, ILB, Houston (PRI)
Ryan Smith, CB, North Carolina Central (WOR)
Noah Spence, OLB/DE/3-4OLB, Eastern Kentucky (PRI)
Nate Sudfeld, QB, Indiana (WOR%)

If Darron Lee is there I'm running his name up there so fast it would almost be funny, those highly athletic ILBs that can cover RBs and TES just as important in today's NFL as almost any position

I would think Keim would run a quicker 40 than Smoke or Fire if he's on the board. :D

Dreamin is free cause it will never happen

I'm almost thinking right now he could almost go top 10 just such a need in today's NFL, Wouldn't surprise me at all if Sua Cravens is our target at 29 he replaces Minter in passing situations and in time allows Buchanon to move back end sometimes interchangeable part.

I would be happy with Dodd, Lee or Apple. I do think Lee will be chosen closer to 15, but you never know. Dodd has been projected anywhere from TB to early second round. He's a player that could play both OLB and DE for us. He knows how to get to the QB. He's definitely high on my list.

I think if DE Ogbah is there the Cards would take him. He would really add to their pass rush especially now that the have Chandler Jones.

+1

I like New England's approach to finding pass rushers, which is it is easier to trim the fat then gain the weight.

Ogbah has the talent, but do you think BASK will take a player in the first with questionable effort?

Lee, Dodd and Apple should be gone. That leaves Lynch and Ogbah and slew of others.

I'm on the Jaylon train. Lawson would be viable and I like Vernon Butler.

Never heard that before on Ogbah.

This is from Dane BuglerCBS Sports Draft Insider:

Ogbah is still learning the complexities of the position and lacks elite explosiveness, but he's a balanced athlete for his size and never shuts it down, exhibiting the effort needed to collapse the pocket. He will be a favorite in the building due to his work ethic and make-up.

Hmmm. That is different than what I have heard. What I heard is that he works out, and stays in great shape. But on the football field, he tends to consistently take plays off.

Yikes, did a little more research and now found this:

Ogbah, a two-year starter at Oklahoma State, is a powerful edge-rusher with ideal size and weight to play both 3-4 and 4-3 defensive end. Though there are concerns surrounding his quickness or burst off the edge, Ogbah is capable of winning at the point of attack given his sheer strength and power. Ogbah has also forced scouts to question his effort due to his lack of drive on the film at times, but he has the ability to become a balanced edge-defender against the pass and in the run game if he dedicates himself to the game.

The tough thing for me is to forget the hour I watched of Ogbah getting stonewalled all game by LT Spencer Drango of Baylor---and Drango projects as a G in the NFL. Ogbah has the initial burst but if the tackle squares him up, his feet stop all together. IOWs, his motor goes on idle---a lot.

Exactly---which is why he isn't a 1st round pick. Like Bill Parcells always said, "Potential means you haven't done anything yet."

I dont think Lee gets past Atlanta. I dont know what to believe on Ogbah.

Some say he takes plays off but I also read " He will be a favorite in an

NFL building because of his attitude and work habits". I love his size and

power though. Dont think Apple gets past the Chiefs and the Steelers may

look at him if the Raiders take William Jackson. I could see the Raiders

going with Robert Knedmiche. Adding him to Mack..Aldon Smith and Bruce

Irvin would be crazy.

Aside from Lee, Id say all of them probably will be at #29

Problem is, I don't like any of them.

Dodd is a 1 game wonder. Not 1 year wonder...1 GAME wonder.

Eli is very raw. And we are in a SB push. We don't have time to babysit him. Need contributors now.

Lynch maybe. Between the two QBs the Cards have brought in, I like Dak Precott better.

Ogbah is actually a good player, just #29 feels a little too soon
