Two Syracuse football players were stabbed several times in an altercation at the university's south campus, and a former teammate has been charged in the assault. Police said redshirt junior defensive backs Corey Winfield and Chauncey Scissum, both 21, were injured in the attack at about 6 p.m. Saturday and hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. Naesean Howard, 20, was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon and was being held in the Onondaga County Justice Center.
