A pair of former Texas Longhorns and a pair of former Michigan Wolverines are the four likeliest players to be the Miami Dolphins' first pick in the 2025 NFL draft, according to ESPN Analytics.
In the site's draft predictor tool, Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is projected as the Dolphins' most likely pick with a 12 percent chance that he's the No. 13 overall pick. Texas cornerback Jahdae Barron and Michigan cornerback Will Johnson are tied for second with about an 11 percent chance each. Rounding out the top four is Michigan tight end Colston Loveland at just over 10 percent.
According to ESPN, "the model uses expert mock drafts, Scouts Inc. grades and team needs to estimate the chance every prospect is taken at each pick."
Interestingly, no defensive linemen are given even a two percent chance of winding up in Miami at pick No. 13. Despite the team's needs in the defensive trenches, players like Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden are given a better chance at winding up with the Dolphins than linemen like Michigan's Kenneth Grant, Oregon's Derrick Harmon, and Ole Miss' Walter Nolen.
Last year, ESPN Analytics predicted there was a more than five percent chance that Chop Robinson would be the team's first-round pick.
