ASU v. Texas A&M?

Depends on whether Texas gets into the BCS. If they don't, that should be the matchup. If Texas gets a BCS game, then the Aggies will go to the Cotton Bowl and Oklahoma St. will play ASU.

Either way, the Holiday Bowl will be a shootout and maybe the best bowl game of the year.

Be rooting for Cal to win out if you want to go to the Holiday Bowl. If they somehow drop out of the BCS via a loss or some sort of screwjob, then they go to San Diego while ASU goes to El Paso for the Sun Bowl. It would be about a 600K loss in payout on top of the money the entire conference would lose for not getting an extra team in the BCS.

Much prefer San Diego over El Paso....as if I even needed to say that!

 I thought USC goes to the championship game, Cal goes to the Rose bowl unless they lose the last two games then we go which would mean we would go! If they win out we go to the Holiday Bowl...so wouldn't we want Cal to lose their last two games so they have three losses and we get to go to the Rose Bowl?!

I had not thought about that. Right on.

That's not how it works. ASU can finish no higher than third in the Pac10 due to their conference record of (soon-to-be) 6-2. Even if Cal loses to Stanford their conference record will also be 6-2 yet because of their beatdown of ASU they get the tiebreaker.

Plus the Rose Bowl is a BCS bowl and is therefore reserved for two of the six conference winners or two at-large teams that must be in the Top 12 of the final BCS rankings. Right now ASU is #14 and will not be dramatically helped out by the UofA win. Sorry, it's either the Holiday Bowl if Cal wins out or the Sun Bowl if they lose.

I thought the Rose bowl always had a Pac10 team in it? If what you say is correct then no pac10 team would go.. it would be BCS USC, Holiday Bowl Cal, Sun Bowl ASU...who goes to the Rose bowl?

When the Rose Bowl joined the BCS it lost it's right to only host the winner of the Big 10 vs. the winner of the Pac 10 if one of those conference champs is in the BCS title game.
