Alright baseball fans we are entering into the last weekend before the season truely begins (in case you hadn't guessed I'm not a big fan of MLB starting off the season in Japan) and it is time to see everybodys predictions (not just Dacks fans) as to who is going to make it to the playoffs and who you think is going to win the whole damn thing this year. Here are mine:

National League

NL West - Diamondbacks (Comments: I expect a close race to the end with the Dodgers with the Dbacks just barely making it through)

NL Central - Cubs (Comments: Solid lineup and starting rotation, the only questions regarding this team are it bullpen and their health)

NL East- Phillies(Comments: This IMO is the toughest division to decide on. The Marlins, lost a lot of their offense this offseason and are going to miss Pudge in a big way this season. Last year the Atlanta Braves relied on their offense to win them games and with Sheffield as well as Javy Lopez leaving I just can't see them keeping up. The Phillies are the most talented team in the division and should win this division easily, especially with the addition of Billy Wagner to their bullpen, if Larry Bowa doesn't screw it up which is not a given)

NL Wildcard - Astros (Comments: Another tough choice between the Astros and the Florida Marlins, but I think the Astros pull out this last playoff berth due to their veteran leadership especially in their pitching staff)

American League

AL West - Angels (Comments: I really like the additions that have been made by this Angels club. The signing of Vlad will pay huge dividends for this teams success)

AL Central - Royals (Comments: This is another toughie IMO, but I think with the experience of being in the race last year will help them a lot this year as well as the fact that for once they seemed to keep all of their talented players through the offseason.)

AL East - Red Sox (Comments: IMO the best team in baseball last year whom should have been in the World Series. They kept the key components that they had last year, they also managed to add Curt Schilling. A very, tough team to beat this year)

AL Wildcard - Yankees (Comments: Even though I can't stand the Yankees, I picked them to win this last playoff berth for the American League. I think that their lineup and bullpen are good enough to get into the playoffs but their starting rotation has too many question marks for me to give them the nod over the Red Sox)

World Series

I predict that the World Series will be the Boston Red Sox vs. the Chicago Cubs with the Red Sox winning it in 6.

I disagree, I think the team to give the D'backs the most trouble...is the Padres.

They improved every aspect of their game, especially with Brian Giles. The key is Phil Nevin's health though

Nevin's fine. It's his agressivness I worry about. (I saw him play a few days ago, I was batboying). Klesko will hit .275 and 30 homers. Giles will do what expected. San Diegos pitching. Eaton, Peavy, and Wells sounds good, but theres not much after that.

Arizona will take the NL West.

Phil you couldn't be wronger!

Or even more wrong...just because you were the Batman for the team means you have some sort of insight.

BTW, how tall is Brian Giles?

NL West - Padres (DBacks/Giants are done, Dodgers a possibility if they can add another bat)

NL Central - Astros (I don't care what the media says, Houston has a better team than Chicago)

NL East - Phillies (would have won the East last year if they had a closer, they do now)

NL WildCard - Cubs (can't ignore their staff, will get some players before deadline too)

AL West - Halos (best all-around team in baseball)

AL Central - Royals (mediocrity is celebrated in the Midwest)

AL East - Yankees (sorry BoSox fans last year was your year)

AL WildCard - A's (starting pitching is too good to not win 90 games)

World Series - Angels over Astros in 6. Media ******* about the lack of interest in baseball due to low ratings.

I predict the Astros and yanks in the WS. The yanks winning in 6. I agree with the comment that Pardes will give us the competition. Don't forget thier new SS Khalil Greene. His bat is hot right now..

Not that tall. Maybe an inch or two bigger than me. I'm 5'10".

I was disapointed in him. When I was there he booted a few easy plays. He doesn't seem like a great hitter, as everyone is saying. Maybe it's just me.
