Chime in if you had that same eerie feeling as I did.

But the Whizcards did not do it. Even though the refs did everything they could to deny a Cards victory, they pulled through.

The game was not nearly as close as the score. The Cards, and especially the defense, just dominated. Dominated two high-profile teams with winning records in a row.

Awesome play by the Cardinals today.

I was dreading going to work tomorrow and talking about the impossible way we lost this game.

This team is soooooooooooooo resilient.

Yep, I'm sitting there at the game thinking here we go again. But when the defense stopped them cold on the first 3 plays forcing them to punt, I felt that we would get damn good field position and get into field goal range. Low and behold we then went and blocked the punt and won the game.
My throat is still sore from all the yelling.

When the FG went in I just sat down while everyone was around me still standing at the game and put my head in my hands thinking, "this can't happen again". Hell even when we blocked the punt for a TD and I saw the flag I was still thinking, how are they going to give this to the Cowboys. But none of that happened, GREAT WIN!

i was in a sports bar and people were saying it was over....

I was quick to remind them of several TERRIBLE crazy ending losses the Cardinals have had.

Same feelings too. I tried to start to tell myself to prepare for the worst when OT began.

Then we held them on defense.

Then the blocked punt. Then the touchdown.

I then declared that the curse has been reversed with much elation, screaming and joy.

Oh totally. And I was emotionally preparing myself for a loss after the coin toss. Then the blocked punt. Jeez, Cardinals!!!!!

I thought of that game and about a dozen others I've witnessed in which we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Yea I also had those thoughts creep in, I don't know who didn't actually. Watching Barber run right through the entire defense I flashed back to Hester returning that punt and I started to feel sick to my stomach. Had a Cowboys fan actually giving me 'good game' props when we were up by 10 with a couple mins left and I'm like not yet dude, not until the clock hits zero not wanting to jinx it. Sure enough we almost ended up blowing it and I'm telling the guy see what I mean. Well at least I know how those Bears fans felt after that Monday nighter. It took long enough but damn it feels good!

With time running out and a 10 point lead, I slapped one of my friends at the game on the back and said, "It's a great time to be a Cards fan!" And he said, pointing at the clock, "Don't you remember the Bears Game?"

Right then a huge chill went down my spine, and of course moments later we only had a three point lead, and my friends were looking at me like the biggest jinx in the world.

So, I guess you have me to blame for the end of the game drama.

But I had told the same guy in the first quarter that it was going to be our Defense that won the game for us, and when Dallas won the overtime coin toss I said, "That's exactly what we need, we're going to stuff them here and block the punt". (I've got 10 eyewitnesses with signed affidavits that I really said this :))

I think I broke my own jinx; so I guess you have me to thank for the win, too.

:D

I thought of that game and about a dozen others I've witnessed in which we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

That exact snatched defeat from jaws of victory came to mind when Folk's kick eeked over.

You just knew we'd lose the cointoss.

I hope this game has the exact opposite effect the Bears game did, we completely imploded after that. Green fired/demoted Rowen, Matt's play fell off because his QB coach was now the OC and up in the booth, players quit on Green, nightmare scenario.

This can be the game that pulls our season together, despite all the problems we pull the win out, bye week to heal up, and then a chance to put the rest of the division in our rear view mirror.

People need to notice of the 6 games we've played this year, 4 of our opponents are over .500 and 3 of them have 4 wins(Buffalo, Dallas, Washington). So the early schedule wasn't as easy as we thought but we came out of it ok. the tough part of our schedule doesn't look as tough now either.

Look at the rest of the schedule only the Giants game looks like a tough game to see us winning and it's a home game for us.

NE doesn't have Brady, Minnesota nowhere near as good as expected, Eagles are all beat up right now. If we continue to play well we have a very real chance to win 10-11 games.

Seriously, I never thought of it (MNF vs. Chicago)!

This game vs. Dallas had a different tenor to it the entire game. Cardinals controlled the game from start to finish. Dallas was lucky to even be in this game at the end. It wasn't as close as the score!

Even when Dallas tied to force OT, I was confident the Cardinals were not going to falter in this one.

Ok, losing the OT coin toss had me a little worried... :wink2:

They're not the SOC! :newcards:

I'm going to go on the line here. Mark this win down as the turning point for this Cards teams. Refs making lots of bad calls against them in the relatively national spotlight, and they pull a win out. This team IMO has finally learned how to win against good teams when things start going bad.

I just K-N-E-W it was gonna be déjà vu of the Bears debacle when that first field goal at the end of the game was blocked, only to see we called time out like, a nano-second before.

I figured it might end with Special teams play of some sort, but no way did I see it the way it actually happened, and to our benefit too boot!

Between that game and an absolutely gorgeous day tailgating, I couldn’t think of a better way to stone-kill a Sunday to smithereens.

Rock on, Cards!...

There were more than a few Cardinals meltdowns that I had in mind when we went up by 10 that were only compounded by the fact that after Rackers hit the field goal to put us up that there was a mass exodus of people in Cards gear (notice how I do not call them "fans") that hit the exits.

The Cowboy's fan next to me said "Well, that's the ballgame."

I said "Anyone who thinks this ballgame is over hasn't watched a lot of Cardinal football over the years."

I was just about to pull a New Castle from the fridge, then realized tha was the beer I drank before the Bears loss. I put it away and got a glass of ice water.

You can thank me for not jinxing the Cards. ;)

I agree with CardLogic, it didn't have the same feel as the Bears game to me. I did allow the negative thoughts to creep in about how many times we have blown games like this in the past. But I also had a calmness and quite confidence that the Cards would win this game. I also took pause when we lost the coin toss.

Absolutely!!! As I sat with my face buried in my hands and screaming Cowboy fans all around me, I thought back to that game.
