I've taken the liberty of creating an ASFN Survivor League.

Go to http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival/register/joinprivategroup

Group # = 11309

This is a survivor league. Each week, you pick one team that you think will win. If they win, then you pick a team next week.

1) You can only pick a team once for the entire season.

2) If the team you pick loses, you're out.

3) The last person left wins.

Last year, a bunch of people picked STL over SF in week 1. Of course, SF won, so a bunch of partcipants were eliminated. We shouldn't have to worry about SF winning their first game this season :)

There's a maximum of 50 participants, so join quickly.

Also, there are still 12 openings in the pick 'em league.

I've been looking at the first week, and I think that's as safe a bet as any. I think I may actually take the card in week one in my big money survivor pool (payout of more than $30K )

Yes.

That's one of the things that makes it interesting. Once you use the big teams (IND, PIT, NE, etc.) you are then forced to use other strategies. E.g., whoever is playing Houston or whoever is playing SF. Eventually, even those teams run out and you're actually forced to make a semi-educated evaluation of the games.

I'm in. I took the Cards since I have to take them at some point and at home against the 9er's seems like as good a time as we'll see all year.

One thing I should note about Yahoo! If two or more people tie (e.g., two people are left and they both pick losing teams), then Yahoo declares it a tie and ends the league. I don't believe there is any option to change that.

So what we did in that league was just continue the league on the board. Each week, the people who were still left would PM their picks to a neutral bystander, following the same rules (you need the neutral bystander, otherwise, with two people left, the second person to pick could continue the league indefinitely by merely matching the first person's pick).
