Heroes is the popular choice. Good show, but better than Lost? I don't think so. It's not like it ran out of steam the last few weeks, right? Right?

Totally agree here. Heroes had more puff than punch. Lost kicked butt. Also don't get why Michael Emerson ("Ben") got the supporting actor nomination over, say, Josh Holloway ("Sawyer"), but I'm happy to see Terry O'Quinn ("Locke") is in there. I'm guessing Michael Imperioli takes that category, though.

This was me for 14 years, and then I got married ...

My wife's only "main room" TV concession is during college football season. She knows she'll never see me if she doesn't give me the remote on those Saturdays. Other than that, if I want to watch TV on the sofa, those four channels aren't allowed in our mix.

Ugh, such a travesty.

The Office gets nothing? At least 30 Rock won, but Ugly Betty was favored and that's an absolute joke.

How does Boston Legal get in over Lost or Battlestar Galactica?

America Fererra wins over Tina Fey, ugh.

Jamie Pressley over Jenna Fischer? Blah...

These award shows are so aweful.

She deserves it...Ugly Betty is a great show. Unapologetic in its camp.

Ugh...maybe SHE does...but the show itself...no. Not over Entourage, 30 Rock or The Office. Glad it didn't win...

But the PILOT of Ugly Betty won for it's writing over The Office Gay Witch Hunt and others.

I watched the Pilot. It was average at best.

Yeah, she does deserve it...but the Office should have easily won writing. The Pilot of betty wasn't all that good...it didn't even hit its stride as a show until the middle of the season with Rebecca Romijn.

Jamie Pressley's character Joy is much better than Jenna Fischer's character Pam.

I think The Office is the best comedy on tv, but My Name is Earl would not be as successful without Joy.

The Office could live without Pam.

On that note, the Emmy's were terrible.

I disagree, but oh well. Jim and Pam were the reason the second season was so great.

The bold part is very, very true. Randy and Joy make that show fun to watch.

However, Pam's character is fantastic...but I kind of agree that if she weren't on the show it still would have a lot of its magic. The best Earl episodes, however, are the ones that feature a lot of Joy. Is this like the NBA MVP argument? The best player on the best team, or the most important player to their team? If it's the best on the best, it's Jenna Fischer. If it's most important to carry a show, it's Jamie Pressley. IMO of course.

Supporting Actor Drama - Terry O'Quinn, "Lost" (2nd nom, 1st win)

I'm really happy for O'Quinn. He's done such good work for so long (and had the single best mustache since the 50s), it's about time someone gave him a role with some meat on the bone. That said, it's hard to tell if O'Quinn was really THAT good or if they wrote him such a killer role. I guess that's just good television.

Either way, he's easily my favorite television character since Fox Mulder. I hope the Lost writers remember that. Without O'Quinn/Locke, that show could become mediocre.

From the very first scene with him and the orange smile, I was intrigued by his character. It is a testament to solid writing and great performance, both, that i remain intrigued by him.
