supposed to be at 3:30 and my friend who works at Mitty HS swears nobody but the Gordon family knows where he's going.

It's allegedly down to 4, UA, Cal, UCLA and UW in alphabetical order.

UW fans are insisting he's going to UW and has already told Romar. UCLA has started recruiting a couuple of national bigs(some kid named Thompkins) and that fueled rumor that Howland knew he'd lost Gordon.

But everything I've read is the same, nobody has a clue but the Gordon family, even his HS coach says he has no idea what Drew will announce today.

But it sounds like if the rumors are true he's going somewhere in the Pac 10 and UNC and Duke have lost out.

Nobody knows where he is going, but I would have to say Romar is very difficult for any coach to beat. Seems like the Gordon's love Romar, as do most recruits and families.

With good reason, his dad has known Romar for years(played together on Athletes in Action) and Romar was nice enough to invite a 15 year old Drew to the invites for the US under 18 national team a year or 2 ago. Coincidentally Drew was the youngest kid there, had no chance in hell of making the team, but Romar was the coach and was smart enough to realize inviting Drew would be a nice recruiting advantage, and it was.

There's some speculation he's going to UCLA and he's announcing because he just heard about the national recruiting interest UCLA is getting. But everything I read suggests he has turned UCLA down and will pick UW.

I really wanted him at UCLA he's a local kid to me Mitty is about 10-15 minutes from where I live.

OT: I was very confused by this thread title until I realized it was not about Drew Gooden. At first I thought, "what is he declaring?"

Carry on

If Drew Gordon had a dollar for everytime he's been called Gooden, he'd probably have quite a few dollars.

Drew Gooden was one of my worst Lavin nightmare stories. his senior year in HS they were on local tv in a weekly game where I think Channel 36 was showing bay area HS players. At half they asked Gooden how a kid from Richmond decides to go to a school like Kansas and not Cal, Stanford or UCLA.

"Well I grew up a Bruin fan and I wanted to go to UCLA but they didn't recruit me." Now at that time I was so fed up with Steve Lavin I barely even followed recruiting but I knew who Gooden(then called Andrew Gooden) was when he was a soph in HS. So finding out that he wanted to go to UCLA and Lavin didn't recruit him just killed me.

This is getting interesting several UW sources are now reporting Gordon will pick UCLA.

Now everyone is reporting he's going to UCLA. The Pac-10 is going to have some lethal frontcourts in the immediate future. Washington has some work to do, unlike Arizona their recruiting has trailed off along with the play on the court.

Scout.com is saying he will announce for UCLA too so it sounds like that's the case.

Gordon is sort of a better offensive version of Aboya, about the same size, similar build, under more control. Very athletic but much more of a rebounder and shot blocker than a scorer. He can score on putbacks, lobs etc but he's not a guy you can throw the ball into the block and expect him to score. But he's a great athlete, tireless competitor and he'll get better under Howland. another comparison would be to DeVon Hardin of Cal.

If this report is true this is huge, especially with recent reports claiming UCLA is doing really well with Jrue Holiday.
