Jones guy is fast. It may be scrubs time but he already outplayed Colliins

Dwayne Jones in the limited minutes showed he is 100 % better than Collins. And maybe even Frye.

In a van...down by the river.
Jones wears the jersey number of another former SUN who came out of nowhere and aggressively played his way into the rotation of an already talent-loaded roster.
This kid looks like he can play IMO.
Collins looks even more expendable than he already was.

Start Jones! Look, I know Camby wasn't in and he didn't have to contend with him, etc. But give me a freakin' break, Collins is slow, unathletic and gets out rebounded.

Jones > Collins

And you know what's interesting? Collins didn't even play this good when he got scrub minutes

Jones moves well and has ridiculous hops, I think he could guard Aldridge and give him problems. COllins all he does is push him!!!

This is one of those games where the final margin of victory makes a lot of difference. Had we won a close one, Portland would feel very good going home 1-1. But after a 29-point blowout, probably not so much so. It makes game 1 seem more like a fluke, like the Blazers benefited from catching the Suns on a bad night. Hopefully Portland's confidence was shaken quite a bit tonight.

Great performances from out four starters tonight. JRich and Hill were phenomenal, Amare was more aggressive, getting to the line, and Nash finished with 16 assists. We also got to rest our starters again in the fourth quarter.

I don't care how well they defend us all night(and they will continue to defend us well IMO),if we can take away either Aldridge or Miller they'll be struggling to score 90 pts.....and IMO we can get to at least 100 even when defended well. We got 100 in game 1, no way we should allow the BLAZERS get over 100 w/out Brandon Roy.
BOTTOM LINE: I want to see us take something away from Portland and just continue to run OUR offense....if we do that then we can take back the momentum.

:suns:

BLAZERS 90 points
Aldridge 11 pts 4 rebounds
Miller 12 pts 3 assists

:self::D
Great win!

It is good we have an option on Jones for next season to find out what he is capable of. We still need a much better 2nd string center though behind Robin.

Let's get this Jones kid some more burn, say the majority of Collins limited minutes. In 30 seconds, was way more productive than Collins' whole game. With that said, great great game by the Suns.

WHat exactly can we lose if we play Jones? Playing Collins is a waste. I hope Gentry sees that Jones can be a more productive player than Collins.

What I find interesting about Game 2 vs. Game 1 - I think it was on the radio where they asked, can you name from game 1, the best players of that game coming from both teams? I couldn't name anyone from Phoenix...and it was Miller, Bayless, Aldridge...

than you ask the same question for game 2, and i can't even come up with anyone from Portland.
Richardson, Nash, Hill, Amare......

Alvin Gentry's defensive adjustment on Andre Miller was key tonight. Very good coaching right there. Putting a longer Hill/Dudley on Miller and pressuring him full court was exactly what a coach is supposed to do. Fix the problem. This is the answer, I think, for the series. I really think that adjustment just won the series for the Suns. Since Portland doesn't have much other offense, Aldridge is going to have to score 70 a night by himself.

Good job, coach.

I had the same observation here in the 1st quarter.:D With Miller contained, there is just no meaningful Blazers' offense to speak of. I really wonder how they could come back to the series and get any scores other than the contested jumpers by Webster and Batum.:D
My prediction was Suns in 5 and it still is.:)

Game, set, match. I don't think Portland has an adjustment to counteract Gentry's adjustment. Miller is not going to be able to facilitate or score like Game 1. Unless they play Bayless and Miller together and Bayless goes crazy along with Aldridge I just don't see how they are going to win 3 more games against the Suns. They may steal 1 more game but this series in my mind is over.

I think Bayless has graduated into my most hated NBA player. He combines a perfect storm of annoyance. Former UA player, playoff rival, crybaby, flopper.

I kinda despise him too, ever since he scored 29 on the Suns earlier in the season but it is mostly the Suns fan in us speaking :). I don't think he is a flopper though, he takes it to the rim pretty strong and i wouldn't mind a guard like that coming off the bench.
