1st Pick. Simmons or Ingram. Wow. I can see Simmons game fitting perfectly with Warren. There are risks with Simmons. Passion, defense. The thing that you know you will get is rebounding and passing. This team could use both of those things.

I go, reluctantly, with Simmons. Ingram may end up being the better pro, but Simmons skill set is so rare and so intriguing.

I was watching the show with Stephen A Smith & Skip Bayless with the hot lady moderator. They had Seth Greenberg on and they were discussing whether Simmons is still the #1 pick and Greenberg said no because in today's NBA you have to be able to shoot and that is why Ingram should be the pick. They got into a Johnny Jones bashing session because he couldn't get his team on the same page. Bayless felt it was on Simmons for the disappointing season because of his selfishness and lack of interest.

The key point made by Greenberg was that Simmons is going to go to a bad team and the NBA season is a lot longer than the college season. If Simmons couldn't stay focused for 32 games, how is he going to handle a long and disappointing NBA season? Maybe the fact that he is getting paid will be his motivation but the concern is valid.

I am terrible at evaluating draft talent. That said, Simmons has "Michael Beasley" written all over him.

Would love to see Simmons, Hield, Ingram, or Dunn on the Suns. Granted Suns need a guy like Simmons or Ingram because of size, but man, Hield is such a gamer

NBA Draft Net has us taking him at #3 now. Would definitely have to try and trade Knight or Bledsoe to avoid a log jam. I am starting to get on board with Sabonis with our first pick.

Man, I have been a huge Sabonis proponent, but I had never considered him with our first pick. What I would really want is Ingram with our first pick. Then trade the 38 and 33 picks along with the 12 to move up to where we need to go to get Sabonis, and call it a day.

PHX is more likely to end up outside the Top 2 so Ingram will not be an option. Hell #2 may not be an option for Ingram if a GM is not a fan of Simmons. I would rather have Sabonis than Dunn, Brown, Bender or Hield (unless PHX deals Knight for a PF).

For a trade up you need a willing partner so it's not a guarantee. A team could ask for too much to trade down.

Ran the sim once and we got Ingram at the 2nd spot. I would prefer that outcome.

Fine with me. Then a pf with 12-13.

Trade the other two picks along with Knight, Archie, PJ, and even Chandler, to get whatever else we need.

Here is what I believe to be true though.

Chandler is going to be here for the duration. They like his locker room presence. His recent "rebuilding" comments were exactly what I thought. He sees the Suns much closer to competing than most. McD has also probably given him some assurances regarding the draft and free agency that would indicate being competitive next year.

Knight and Archie are on the trade block. I doubt either of them will be here next year, certainly Archie.

Bogdan Bogdanovic is another asset the Suns can use in a trade, sort of like another first round draft pick.

This is the worst case scenario IMO. Lakers fall to #4, pick goes to Philly, Suns get bumped all the way to #5 after watching Philly take #3 and what could have been their pick at #4.

You must be registered for see images attach

This is the only scenario that would literally cause me to become violently ill, break my TV, phone, or iPad (depending on where I learned about it actually happening), and possibly weep.

No, the worst case scenario would be that Washington gets one of the top two picks and bumps the Suns to 4th. No Ingram or Simmons and no 12-13 pick either. The Wizards go on to make the playoffs next year and the Wizards pick ends up in the 20s.

I really hate you right now for putting that possibility in my head. I'm now convinced it's what will happen. We'll watch the 4th pick go to the Sixers and then Washington will jump into the top two and take Simmons or Ingram. Jerk.

Sorry. Its happened before. Remember that Atlanta pick? You could always root for the Wizards to make the playoffs.

Yeah, but Atlanta didn't jump from 12-13 that year. I think they were 5-6. But I do always expect the worst luck when it comes to the Phoenix Suns and the draft. The guy they really want always gets taken one or two picks before them. If the Phoenix Suns have a bad year that's followed by a draft that's incredibly weak at the top. We trade out of the draft because we think the players we want will be gone Or trade up only to have the trading partner renege and fail to mention it until after we've made our later pick.

So whatever is the worst-case scenario is exactly what I expect from the draft lottery.

Couldnt care less if the Sixers get the pick from the Lakers. Sunken cost.

In fact Id be happy if the Lakers end up without a pick.

Yeah, I'd prefer the Sixers got that pick conveyed this year. Screw the Lakers.

Except by tanking hard they're putting themselves in the best possible position for that not to happen. Very smart.

I agree. Whatever hurts the Lakers the most is a victory, and I will take a real victory over a moral victory (the pick not transferring) any day.

Almost forgot about him. I hope we get clarity soon after season ends on if he will be joining the Suns next season.

First try, Suns were #5, took Ellenson
Second try, Suns were #3, took Ellenson, Rabb at #13.

I keep running it and getting the second result. Suns never win the lottery, or move up.
