P

Please guys, when I make comparisons, I am not trying to make exact comparisons. For instance, the only point I was making about Len was career trajectory, as in a big that looks like he has promise but fizzles--a Drummond (a big that struggles early but seems to work through it and succeeds) or Len (a big that seems to have a lot of promise but just cannot seem to put it together). I think I am going to have to quit doing this altogether. Otherwise it ends up getting put under a microscope of sorts.

What are you guys? Lawyers?

Good grief... I’ve been trying hard to not respond with any snark the last couple days and just talk straight basketball sans attitude but if you literally can’t take me merely disagreeing with I believed to be faulty comparisons and pointed out why, just put me on ignore from now on so I don’t hurt your feelings.

My draft tiers right now are as follows:

Tier 1: Ayton
Tier 2: JACKSON,PORTER Young,
Tier 3: Doncic, Bagley, Bamba

.

Ayton of course @ 1, giving the Suns the big man they need in the middle

Jackson: is a stretch 4 that would fit Suns style perfect PF/SF

Porter 6'10 SF/PF I could see Porter and Jackson work well spacing wise and be a solid front court

Young: and Booker would be a nice back court pair. Young doesnt have the size, but his range and attacking style and court vision fit Suns well

Doncic, Where and how would he fit on the team, hes not a four, Jackson already is a tweener, Warren and Booker are Wings, too big for Point. Already polished so less of a ceiling. Has no Position, lacks, Athleticism, Strenghth, and speed. I see a bust

I am just hoping the Suns can land with a top 5 pick Ayton, Jackson, Porter or Young

If Payton doesn't cut his hair by the draft, he can walk. We need a player with basketball as his priority.
Priority is the question, alright. Oh JC, you would send the potentially best Point Guard we've had since Steve walking because of his hair? Steve's hair was pretty wild at the time.

Steve's hair wasn't a baseball cap

Gambo, replying to a fan today who asks who suns take if they have the number 1 pick. I assume with gambo's suns connections this is not just total speculation, so tank goodness.

Ayton or Bagley

Good find. Very interesting!

I'm not as high on Bagley as some, but I could be convinced. He's an incredible athlete and seems to have the "it" factor. I think the chances he busts are slim, I'm just not sure about his defensive upside compared to the other elite bigs.

You are comparing the two? Good luck!
IIRC, Steve was always messing with his hair during the game.

I agree with you that I'd like to see Payton lose the elephant trunk once it is established that he is our starting Point Guard for next year, which is mainly what I'd like to see.

Meanwhile, he sure knows how to set himself apart from the rest of the pack to put him in that position. And, of course, the quick triple-double, then backing off on scoring to concentrating on facilitating when Booker returned.

I like Paytons game. If the price of admission is his hair I'll pay it. But I'll always wonder if he'd be better with a haircut.

A 6'11 super athlete. He'll beat the bigs that guard him, and post up the smalls. Will be devastating as a pick and roll guy with jackson or booker, eventually

People are downgrading him because he can't shoot, he's not even 19 yet! The form looks good.

And it would be a great story, born and raised in phx

I think Bagley could be another KG if he reaches his potential... no guarantees, of course, but there aren't with any of these guys.

As a rim protector, I think he can be a force. Also the second half of the season, his offensive game has expanded. Put a little meat on his bones and I think he could be a very, very good anchor in the middle. Right now, feels like his best comparison is a healthy Nerlens Noel in college.

I disagree, Bamba seems (much) more than that. He reminds me of Marcus Camby, but he is longer.

I have to admit, I don’t agree with a lot of the comparisons you made.

Porter doesn’t have Chriss’ athleticism. He’s been more compared to Durant, who is a good athlete but not in chriss’ category. I’d say, health willing, Porter will at worst be (oh man I’m blanking in his name - the 6’10 sf that played for the Sonics and then magic with Dwight Howard).

I agree that Porter' athleticism is much closer to Lewis' than to Durant's but Lewis' bread and butter was his 3P-shot.

Porter reminds me of the young Mike Dunleavy.

Or a young Tom Chambers?

Chambers was pretty unique. He was legimately a big man not only in height but in frame. He could shoot, he could put the ball on the floor (for a man of his size back then) and he had mad hops. I think his knee to the face of Mark Jackson remains my all-time favorite dunk. Even over kjs facial on Hakeem.

It’s my favorite dunk too.

Bamba reminds me of Nerlens Noel. People are obsessed with his length but his play does not sniff the other guys being mentioned.
