Good article, sadly reflects the truth of the problems. MB should read this and fix it.

amazing to think that of all of the pre draft roster moves made by Keim -- not a single one worked, not a single one is on the active roster, and how quickly they were exposed:

1. Brice Butler -- cut in training camp
2. Bradford -- cut after 8 games
3. Jamar Taylor - cut after 10 games
4. Andre Smith-- cut after 11 games
5. Justin Pugh-- on IR after 9 games with a 51 PFF rating.

btw: 1-5 ate up ~$18mm in cap space this year. would love to have a do over on that again

The incredible thing about all these guys getting cut is that they got cut from a team that has a horrible roster - meaning it should have been EASY to be a positive addition. Nope, not here.

I heard a Wilks interview right before the season started, and my reaction was "uh-oh" and "how did this guy get past the interview?". He sounds absolutely awful - full of cliches and lack of any emotion or personality in his voice. Heard part of this week's 98.7 call and he sounded... even worse.

Clean house and start over. Tomorrow, 12/31, doesn't matter. If they lose by 30+ again this week against the angry Packers, I wouldn't be surprised if the purge happens Monday morning. MB has to be just about fed up at this point.

I am not trying to be snarky here. Serious Question:

Can anyone name one thing that Wilks has done to benefit this team in 11 months he was hired?

I would not cut Wilks until the season is over as there is not one of his coaches that is worthy of even being an interim head coach. Let him finish the season and MB needs to get rid of Keim and Wilks. Hire a good GM and let him make the decision on the next HC.

He talked pretty and sold this new regime well over the summer.

I can see why people may come away impressed. I have to give that.

Now that the onion is peeled, Wilks had no substance in his talks. When asked for specifics he says "Again..." like a zillion times. Saying "Again" and repeating the answer should tell everything about the dude.

After the preseason game vs Dallas I thought for sure we were headed for a nice surprise this season. We were surprised alright... the worst possible kind of surprise.

We have a historically bad offense right now:

I don't know how anyone can say we should give Leftwich another year.

Agreed, and I really can't stand how Wilks, in every press conference, says it's the players. He's obviously in survival mode and trying to point the finger, but ultimately the role of a coach is to get the best out of your players. If you're not able to get through to them, it's on you. If I was a player and I heard the coach in every press conference saying it's not the coaching, it's the players, I can't say I'd give it my all for that coach, especially if I was a more secure player and knew my time was probably going to be longer than his.

Yeah... in the off season, i thought Wilks seemed confident, competent, and commanding (though annoyingly, he never really said anything specific regarding how he would do things)... but by September i proposed a drinking game based on Wilks' press conferences... turns out, he has no specific ideas at all!
