@Phrazbit - you are the only one that picked first three years but not this year!

Sorry, I could have sworn I did! I typed one out and never posted it apparently.

They always do the opposite of my call, but I feel like if I do it on purpose it won't work...

So much pressure...

88 wins.

I figured this is the best thread to post this historical information about Diamondback managers over their 21 seasons. In all, the D-backs have had nine managers during that time (not including Wally "D.U.I." Backman, who never served). And by not counting Alan Trammel, who managed only three games, that's eight managers in 21 seasons (an average of only 2 5/8 years per manager). That seem to say that the D-backs choice of manager on average has not turned out to be long term.

In these 21 seasons, the D-backs have been in the post-season six times. Only once have they made it two years in a row, both under Bob Brenly. And, of course, our only World Series/ championship came under BB.

Three managers have been voted N.L. Manager of the Year. Bob Melvin for 2007 and he was gone during the 2009 season. Kirk Gibson for 2011 and he was gone during the 2014 season. And Torey Lovullo for last season. Taking all of that into account, it will be interesting to see how long Torey lasts. Shortly he will be completing his second season ending, unfortunately, on a free fall.

Someone is gonna pick the right number but they’d be lying if they said they saw it happening like this.

The D-backs are at 78 wins right now, with a 7-0 lead in this game. Nine games to after this game.

I read here, some time ago, that most guesses were bunched right around where I picked at 87. We're not going to make that.

But, as you said, maybe someone picked it where they'll finish. 82-83 wins?

Good predicting boys and girls. Disappointing season, but not terribly unexpected. The way it went down sucked, but the Dbacks still played a few months of entertaining baseball which is nice and we kept the damn Dodgers out of our pool.

Even a blind squirrel finds an occasional acorn. Better to be humble and not break your arm patting yourself on the back, like 82.
