We are obviously going to have a top three pick in the draft next year... maybe #1. Is there a consensus superstar coming out next year that we might be able to land?

I think the real question is what consensus superstar is out there that we'll completely pass over to take a tweener-rising-up-the-boards-athletic-stud-who-will-be-out-of-the-league-in-four-years?

Totally be our luck and getting the number 1 pick in the draft finally and NOT needing a superstar QB or RB as we already have them in place. Lord. Imagine having to pick #1 and take a DT???
If that scenario plays out...I say we trade the #1 overall pick and move down to get like 4 and 6 or something like that to nab a stud corner, linebacker or DT. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone as they say.
This of course would only be viable if this whole coaching staff is fired though. Otherwise those picks would be wasted.

I'm sorry but this is whining to whine and I have to admit that it is somewhat justified at this time. RB's should not be the #1 overall pick and we desperately need Dline help and an OT would also be a good pick and a stud CB would be great or even a monster LBer.
I do agree though that trading back for a bunch of picks because a team needs a franchise QB and will pay through the nose to get one is a good plan.
Trade the pick, combine those assets with free cap space next season plus QBOTF already in fold. Things going to be really interesting next season. The question is does Bidwill trust Keim with all that ammo?
Why wouldn't he? Didn't he take us from sucking to building us into legit super bowl contenders once already

I haven't seen him that much but he doesn't remind me of Sapp. Sapp always seemed like Barkley a "fat kid" who was freakisly athletic for his size. Oliver has a low center of gravity but he's not a fat kid he has a much better body than Sapp. Certainly not saying he's better than Sapp, Sapp was outstanding, just that he doesn't really remind me of him

I don't know if it's him wearing #10 or the uniform or what but for a guy listed at 6'3" 290 he almost looks small in those highlights?
Really impressive though I've been watching some youtube on him and you can see why he's so highly rated.
People think he can play inside or outside so he's a perfect fit if you're a team that is playing a 4-3 but might be considering going back to a 3-4 based on your personnel. CBS has a draft guy who is comparing Oliver to Aaron Donald FWIW.

FYI at least one mock site has something like 10 DL's in the first round of the draft, definitely a year loaded with linemen.
Assuming we don't improve and land a top pick, or even 1st overall pick, trading down would be tempting with so many needs. Especially since we already have our QBOF and other teams willing to trade up. But what we can't do is passing on blue chip talent, someone who could be a generational player. Don't know this draft class, but if a player like Garrett or Clowney is there, I wouldn't trade down.

Not sure where he's rated, but LSU has a stud linebacker. Say the Cards have the #1 pick. The good thing is teams are going to be climbing all over themselves to get to #1 and draft Dwayne Haskins. The Cards will get a haul for that pick, assuming Rosen works out that is.

We may not get the first pick but most likely be in the top five. This is the year in college of defensive linemen, there are several good ones that will be out there.
