This is how coaches have to be nowadays. You cannot take it personal with the transfer portal. Make sure the players that leave say good things about you. The ones that get this will thrive. The ones that try to stay hard ass about "commitment" will no longer cut it with these athletes in this day and age.

Here is the latest portal list for ASU, about 9 guys exploring their option, Welch unfortunately was dismissed for rules violation after the U of A game. By comparison U of A has about 20 players in the portal.

Wow, he has bounced around. I didn't realize he had left THE Ohio State.

Not many yards at Kentucky either, wonder what the story is... He is one strong dude

This is the part of the portal that needs to be cleaned up. This whole bouncing around year after year for some of these guys.

Also, there are some rumblings about Dylan Raiola hitting the portal. If he does this is what his last five years looks like:

5 high schools
Committed to Georgia
Flips to Nebraska
??? if he hits the portal

Trayanum got a bag of NIL money from Kentucky, but he broke his hand in fall camp and missed the first 5 or 6 games. He then had some other kind of injury, and I think he only ended up playing in three games for KU.

I hope you guys don't mind me posting the UofA portal numbers for comparison. It seems like a moving van pulled up to their ASFN forum and moved everyone out. Only new posts on any sport in there now are by @Ronin and his AI generated Twitter algorithm. ;) Maybe someday we will have a competitive football rivalry, but may not be for a while yet.

Guys like him need to become a "grass isn't always greener" lesson for others.

One portal clean up thing that we need is a penalty for multiple uses. I was thinking something along the lines of the player having to sit a year if he transfers in consecutive years. Technically it wouldn't stop Trayanum but he's a covid outlier since he already has 5 seasons. We're not going to have that going forward.

My thinking with the consecutive years and not for any portal after the first was just to give seniors an out incase of a depth issue. You didn't pan out as a stud player and not 3rd string and want to go to a smaller school so that you can get playing time in your final year type of thing.

it's gotta be tough for them. After 1 year in the XII ASU already has more championships than they've had Rose Bowls after all those years in the Pac. Add on that the bball team is barely .500 and it gets bleak.

Time to twist the knife a little. ;)

NCAA had the one transfer rule, and it was thrown out in court.

Phoenix kid (and past 5-star recruit). We can at least dream, right? ;)

Man, I remember watching that guy's high school clips, a helluva player.

Good thing Kenny tells all the players basically "I will recruit someone to take your position" and only wants players willing to compete.

Chatting with a Husker fan buddy of mine and he says as the transfer talk started to gain some steam, Raiola came out and said he is staying.
