Daniel Jeremiah (IIRC) had a take on Bowers:

he is undersized NFL-wise for the TE position. He was a good but not great blocker in college.

So he isnt likely to be a good inline TE but rather a move TE -- to the point where defenses may treat him like another WR -- which negates some of his advantage. So there is a question on how his game would translate to the NFL

the point of all that was DJ saying it wouldnt surprise him if Bowers dropped-- not out of the 1st round but out of the top 10
This has been my concern. I think he’s a tweener. The nfl hasn’t been great to those.

TE prospects are such high-variance that I don't know why you'd bother taking the risk.

Is Bowers 100% going to be as good as Trey McBride? If you have the slightest doubt, invest in another position. Over and over, it's been shown that very good TEs pop out of obscurity or develop over the course of a contract or two.

If he declares, don’t sleep on Emeka Egbuka. MHJR’s teammate. 1st round talent that battled an injury this year & poor QB play.
NO!!!
Egbuka is not in the same universe as Harrison.
He’s not in Garret Wilson’s or Smith-Njugbas class either.

Good thing is, he’s said he’s returning to Ohio State.

.
Furthers the notion that Odunze is very comfortable with physicality. If he tests well he could take the #2 WR spot.
You know why Harrison isn’t on that list? Because he’s open and dominating college CBs.
I mean who is Cornelius Johnson?

Btw, Harrison is great at being physical.

Whats helping Daniels.....is Lamar Jackson.

Im rooting for Lamar to win the Super Bowl. Improves the odds of Daniels going top 3 or teams trading up for him.

He is on that list, just ranked too low to see. He is tied for the most contested targets with 30, but didn’t catch many.
lol , that means he had 67 uncontested catches for over 1200 yards and 14 TDs. I’m good with that.

I have no idea whether to interpret this as "WRs who are great at contested catches" or "WRs who can't get separation at the college level".
Lol. That’s been my mental battle as well with this topic.

I'd be concerned if most of his catches were of this variety. Watch his tape and you also see him beating corners deep.

If the Cardinals draft an OT first, I wouldnt be mad to see the Cardinals trade up to get Odunze. I think he's going to be a real good player.

My concern is that you pass on a beast player because of concerns unrelated to what he actually did on the field.
My concern is that while college football is the closest thing to nfl football it’s not the same game. Different speed. Different sized players. Different skill level and sophistication. If one element fails to translate it’s too easy for a top prospect to fail. So tweeners can be great in college and meh in the nfl.

Bowers wins with speed but also with an extremely high football IQ. I think he's a really good player because of that.

When you watch him play, it really stands out that he wants to be great. Not everyone is like that.

Some players are but don't have the football IQ to be great. Bowers does.

Another point is that:

1) Odunze won the vast majority of contested catches.

2) He still has a ton of "uncontested" catches as well. I would be concerned if half of his catches were, but that isn't the case.
