It’s Marathon Monday in Massachusetts as the 26.2 miles between Hopkinton and Boylston Street become the center of the running world.
The 2025 Boston Marathon marks the 129th running of the race. As always, it’s set to be a hectic day between the race, the crowds and the general madness of Patriots’ Day. Here’s all the info you need to follow along:
When does the Boston Marathon start? (All times EDT) — Everything kicks off right after 9 a.m.
Once pre-race ceremonies conclude, the men’s wheelchair division will be the first to leave the starting line at 9:06 a.m. The first runners to take the course will be the elite men at 9:37 a.m. The race will fully open up with general entries at 10 a.m. EST.
What is the weather forecast for Marathon Monday? — It’s expected to be a pleasant day for the marathon. Expect temperatures in the high 50s to low 60s. Skies should be clear for the race. There’s no rain expected until late Monday night.
